Lake Eola Park in Orlando, FL
The Mark's List Gang
Lake Eola Park is a spectacular urban area, where thousands of people take in the pleasant and peaceful scenery surrounding Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. Orlando's residents and we suppose more than a few travelers, flock to the walkways, fountains and shaded grassy spots to read books, walk at lunch or in the evenings and for the numerous festivals and events that take place around the park. The sidewalk that circles the lake is just short of a mile long, making it easy for runners, joggers, bikers and so on to keep track of their distance. Other activities available to park visitors include renting swan-shaped paddle boats for, or electric gondola boats, feeding the swans and other birds that live in the park, grabbing a bite to eat at Relax Grill on Lake Eola or relaxing amid beautiful flower beds and a spectacular view of Orlando's skyline.
With the exception of the playground, leashed pets are allowed in the City park.
The Lake Eola Fountain comes alive at night with a choreographed show set to music. The light show and the musical themes change with the season. While the fountain runs all day, fountain shows run nightly at approximately 8:00 pm and 9:30 pm lasting about 6 minutes. Times change as the days get longer, so expect later start times moving towards the summer months.
