Author & Curator:
Mark's List
Adult film star Hunter Vance returns to Miami to celebrate Floppy Rooster's 3rd Anniversary with live shows from Wednesday, February 22 to Sunday, February 26. Featuring a “50 Shades of Hunter” theme, guests will have the chance to win adult toys, gift cards, sex swings, a stripper pole and other prizes on select nights. We caught up with Hunter Vance to talk about his upcoming appearance at Floppy Rooster, anti-bullying and some of his new business ventures.

You performed at Floppy Rooster’s One Year Anniversary in 2015. What’s changed in your life over the last two years?

Besides getting older, I've opened a gay bar with two other friends of mine in Sarasota called Barrel 87 . Stop by when you're in the area.

In our last interview you mentioned you were single. Is there anyone special in your life now?

Well there was this guy, but that was short lived.

Your last appearance was so popular that you’re coming back to help celebrate Floppy Rooster’s 3rd Anniversary.  What do you do that sets you apart from other performers?

I believe I have a good heart, but this mouth...

The theme for this year’s event is “50 Shades of Hunter.” Will you be seeing the new Fifty Shades Darker movie?

Not much interest in watching straight soft-core porn, so I may be skipping this one.

How do your fantasies compare to some like a Christian Grey?

Slowly but surely all the fantasies come true, just gotta find people dirty enough.

Perhaps your next movie can have a “Fifty Shades” set with bondage, whips and blindfolds?

That would be very hot! It would probably be hotter if it were outside.

You’re also a big advocate for anti-bullying. What are some of the organizations that you support?

On the top of my list would be GLSEN. I truly believe that influencing the way we view and treat others starts when we are young and continues through the adolescent years. However, it is not limited to our youth; educators need to be helped to understand how important it is to create safe schools and a more inclusive school culture. If we engage our youth and teach them that bullying is unacceptable, they will grow up to be more than better students—they will be better human beings.

What’s your message for Donald Trump when it comes to bullying?

You wonder why he lost the popular vote? Numbers don't lie! How on earth would you think it's ok to bully people and be a role model for this country? It's beyond me.

What do you plan to do in Miami in your spare time when you’re not performing?

Definitely go down to South Beach. It's been some time since I've even been to a beach.

How is the rest of 2017 looking? Do you have any exciting upcoming projects?

Working at the Barrel has been busy and exciting, and we are already looking to expand for a bigger location. Besides that, I still do a bit of porn, make appearances and dance around the country. I always say the sky's the limit and things are always getting better.

Adult Film Star Rocco Steele Tackles HIV Stigma

Although research and support for the HIV/AIDS community has come a long way since the 80s and 90s, a great deal of ignorance and stigma still exists—even within the gay community. With celebrities such as Charlie Sheen and Danny Pintauro (Who’s the Boss?) recently bringing HIV/AIDS into the entertainment headlines, perhaps now is the perfect time for a new, more enlightened conversation on the subject.

Mark’s List spoke with adult film star Rocco Steele, who has experienced his fair share of ups and downs with addiction and living with HIV.  He has, however, used these personal experiences as a catalyst to promote HIV awareness and education. Florida's Gay and Lesbian Beaches

We've given our Florida Gay Beaches Guide a makeover. Florida is surrounded by some of the best beaches in the world. Florida's Best Clothing Optional Gay Men's Resorts

Life in the tropics is all about beating the heat. And what better way cool off than to hang out poolside without clothing? Florida has dozens of clothing optional resorts, but which ones are the best? Here's the Mark's List take on the 5 best (in no particular order).

In Key West check out New Orleans House and Island House. New Orleans House is located on Duval Street, right in the middle of all of the action. You can count on a great time poolside or in Key West's biggest Gay nightclub, Bourbon Street Pub. Island House is located on a quieter side street and offers amazing rooms, many of them opening onto the pool and patio. There's also an amazing pool side cafe serving up some of the best food (and libations) on the Island. In Fort Lauderdale, we suggest you get your Gay clothing optional groove on at The Grand Resort and Spa, which offers an upscale atmosphere with amenities that include spa services, poolside cabana bars and plenty of tanning lotion to keep your booty from burning. In Central Florida you can head out into the woods and catch some all over rays at the Sawmill Camping Resort. Sawmill offers cabins and plenty of places to park RVs or pitch tents. There's also a large heated pool, a dance hall, restaurant, several themed bars and plenty of trails to go "hiking" on.

Kelly Clarkson Talks Confronting Anti-LGBT Parents

During her 15-year career as your friendly pop spirit-lifter, Kelly Clarkson has prescribed a cheap alternative to therapy: anthemic pick-me-ups like “Since U Been Gone” and “People Like Us,” songs that impel a transcendental, fist-raised state. Due, in part, to her simply being so damn cool, Clarkson – who drowned the world in their own tears right along with her own as she was crowned the inaugural “Idol” winner in 2002 – tells me she feels so compelled to stick up for her LGBT besties she literally wants to go door-to-door and talk some sense into her friends’ homophobic parents.
