“Like HBO’s Looking or Girls, but set in Memphis, Tennessee.” That’s how creator Morgan Jon Fox characterizes Feral, a Dekkoo.com original TV series that debuted October 6 exclusively on the subscription streaming service dedicated to gay men (Photos by Breezy Lucia).

In Feral, Fox (who also serves as the series writer and director), weaves a tale of survival as a group of 20-somethings learn about love, loss and friendship while living in the vibrant, artistic queer community of Memphis.

The storyline revolves around the lives of Billy and Daniel, two best friends sharing a comfortably broken in bungalow in the diverse Memphis neighborhood of Midtown. It begins when the two are forced to kick out their third roommate, after discovering his heroin addiction.

Feral is not only the first TV series in which thousands Middle American LGBT 20-somethings can finally see themselves realistically reflected, but a welcome window through which everyone–gay or straight–can vicariously experience what life is like for the young gay millennials in the American Heartland.

It was a pleasure to sit down with one of the stars, Seth Daniel, who plays “Daniel” in Feral.

At what age did you start performing?

In general I started performing at 7 years old when I started taking dance classes.

What was your first professional gig?

I performed (danced) at Steven Segal’s daughter’s birthday and my first acting gig was in ABC’s Nashville.

When did you realize that performing would be your career?

To be completely honest, I was born that way. My first toy was a plastic microphone.

How did you get the part in Feral?

Cool story. I moved to New York and started auditioning, and I was failing financially and emotionally. I then got a call from Morgan asking if I was moving back to Memphis. I was super lonely and desperate for a reason to leave, so the call gave me my out. I went back to Memphis, auditioned and got the part.

Tell us about the show?

Feral is more a less a dramedy based on 20-something queer kids in Memphis, Tennessee. They are finding out where they fit and what they believe in and what kind of impact they want to make on the world.

You have a Florida connection as you were born here. Do you ever get back down to the Sunshine State? Do you have family here?

I was in Florida last year as I was taking my boyfriend to the house I grew up in, and we went all through Central Florida and visited with friends. I love Florida.

How did you meet your boyfriend?

My boyfriend, Dustin, is Israeli and we met two years ago in Memphis at my favorite lounge. My boyfriend in the show (real name Jacob) was working in that lounge and I saw Dustin and asked him who the cute boy was, but I was too nervous to approach him. Two weeks later we ran into each other and he invited me out and we hit it off immediately. He was supposed to move back to Israel, but we fell in love and he stayed. I feel blessed to have him in my life.

What does the future hold for you?

Now that I am living in LA, my long term goal is to win an Emmy. But right now I am auditioning a ton, I just signed with an agency, and I have management team, so we are all pushing. I have already had a few good bookings and auditions. I am very excited about my future as an actor. My ultimate goal is to have a late night talk show.

Designer Andrew Christian Talks Sex, Power and Freedom

Highlighting a plethora of rock-hard bodied Andrew Christian Trophy Boys in various stages of undress, including fan-favorites AradCory and Topher, popular underwear designer Andrew Christian’s provocative, sexually-charged book of fantasy, innuendo and desire is making quite the statement. SEX = POWER = FREDOM isn’t just any adult picture display of naked men created with the sole purpose of getting you off—although it successfully delivers if that tickles your fancy. Florida's Best Clothing Optional Gay Men's Resorts

Life in the tropics is all about beating the heat. And what better way cool off than to hang out poolside without clothing? Florida has dozens of clothing optional resorts, but which ones are the best? Here's the Mark's List take on the 5 best (in no particular order).

In Key West check out New Orleans House and Island House. New Orleans House is located on Duval Street, right in the middle of all of the action. You can count on a great time poolside or in Key West's biggest Gay nightclub, Bourbon Street Pub. Island House is located on a quieter side street and offers amazing rooms, many of them opening onto the pool and patio. There's also an amazing pool side cafe serving up some of the best food (and libations) on the Island. In Fort Lauderdale, we suggest you get your Gay clothing optional groove on at The Grand Resort and Spa, which offers an upscale atmosphere with amenities that include spa services, poolside cabana bars and plenty of tanning lotion to keep your booty from burning. In Central Florida you can head out into the woods and catch some all over rays at the Sawmill Camping Resort. Sawmill offers cabins and plenty of places to park RVs or pitch tents. There's also a large heated pool, a dance hall, restaurant, several themed bars and plenty of trails to go "hiking" on.

Adult Film Star Rocco Steele Tackles HIV Stigma

Although research and support for the HIV/AIDS community has come a long way since the 80s and 90s, a great deal of ignorance and stigma still exists—even within the gay community. With celebrities such as Charlie Sheen and Danny Pintauro (Who’s the Boss?) recently bringing HIV/AIDS into the entertainment headlines, perhaps now is the perfect time for a new, more enlightened conversation on the subject.

Mark’s List spoke with adult film star Rocco Steele, who has experienced his fair share of ups and downs with addiction and living with HIV.  He has, however, used these personal experiences as a catalyst to promote HIV awareness and education.
