About the facilities. Broward County Florida has always placed a special emphasis on building great sports parks and we are now home of to some of the amazing places to walk, run, swim, kick, throw and yes, pitch and hit in Florida. The facilities below will be used to host 2006 Gay World series games from over 120 LGBT teams traveling from all over North America. Back to top.

Brian Piccolo Park, Cooper City Florida

In the Southwestern part of Broward County in Cooper City lies Brian Piccolo Park. Named after the late Chicago Bears running back who grew up in the area.  The park offers six 300’ softball fields with two practice softball fields and numerous other practice areas. It also features a velodrome for skateboarding.

Mills Pond Park
Mills Pond Park, Fort Lauderdale Florida

Located two miles from downtown Ft Lauderdale and adjacent to Wilton Manors, Mills pond has played host to the Hurricane Showdown for the past 10 years. It features five 300’ fields extending from a central area where concessions and restrooms are located. The park also features a soccer field, picnic areas, batting cages, and ample parking around its perimeter.

As part of the City of Plantation Parks System, one of the finest parks and recreational programs in our nation, you can be assured that quality will be found at Sunset Park, a beautiful complex in the middle of suburban Ft. Lauderdale. Its quad pinwheel will serve the series, but there are also three additional fields on site: two baseball and one shorter softball field. If you bring your kids, a small playground also exists on site.
