Something Lovely's Started

SLS Hotel South Beach was created by visionaries Sam Nazarian, Philippe Starck, Chef José Andrés and Lenny Kravitz. The surreal boutique luxury hotel is a feast for the senses and a journey through Miami, Latin America, Asia and the Mediterranean. The hotel's mix of high style and attentive service create a cocktail of sophistication and playfulness. This is a hotel with style, luxury and superior service.

Interior designer Philippe Starck takes SLS Hotel guests on a beachfront dream trip that blends Latin, Asian, contemporary and art deco influences with captivating precision, elegance and humor. With its rooftop design depicting a lantern reaching toward the sky, the old queen is the tallest art deco building in South Beach. Originally built in 1939 under renowned Miami architect L. Murray Dixon, she’s been restored, revamped and resuscitated.

To create the guest rooms at SLS Hotel South Beach, Philippe Starck channeled the ghost of Madame de Pompadour. Fit for Louis XV's legendary mistress, the trendy boutique design reflects the sophistication of old French aristocracy while naughty nods such as mirrors on the ceiling and a box marked "sinners" keep things historically accurate. Some liberties were taken, however, to improve on the 18th-century technology: each hotel room features high-speed WiFi, MP3 connectivity and an iPad. For the villa and Presidential Penthouse, Lenny Kravitz channeled a world traveler and collector for his designs.
