Lime Fresh Mexican Grill

On a recent trip to South Beach we tried a wonderful and fun restaurant worthy of going to weekly for a quick and healthy bite. That restaurant is Lime Fresh Mexican Grill and they currently have South Florida locations in Miami Beach, Pembroke Pines, and soon Coconut Creek/Coral Springs.  Lime is also affordable with everything well under $10. The fresh ingredients will make your mouth water and the ambiance of a Mexican Cantina will make you wonder why there isn’t a Mariachi band walking through.

I would recommend if you are in the mood for something spicy, and Chipotle seems like the answer, then go with the Southwest Salad that has marinated grilled chicken on a bed of fresh greens piled high with bacon, black bean corn salsa, tomatoes and carrots topped with crispy tortilla strips. Oh, did I forget to mention that it is served with a side of chipotle-honey lime dressing and a crispy tostada?  The salads are served i a huge wooden bowl. They also have a Taco Salad with a side of spicy ranch dressing or a Fajita Salad that has a creamy cilantro dressing and a crispy tostada.

I had the signature Lime Burrito with grilled steak, beans, shredded jack and cheddar cheese, sour cream and fresh lettuce but I want to get more adventurous next time and try the Fajita Platter and hear it sizzle (I did from the next table over and was drooling.) The tacos come in a three pack that save a little dinero and they'll mix them up one with steak, one ground beef and one chicken for a small up-charge. We also like the quesadillas that come in either chicken, fish or shrimp. Try the shrimp!

Like most of the restaurants in this genre of dining, there's an all you can eat home made salsa bar with several styles of mild to wildly hot salsa and Pico de Gallo. Unlike the rest, there is a bar with more brands and varieties of hot sauce than I've ever seen. A brilliant idea for us hot sauce connoisseurs.

With Cinco de Mayo approaching, you should definitely consider dropping by Lime Fresh Mexican Grill if you haven’t already!  Viva la Raza!
