You
know when you walk into a restaurant and you automatically are
placed at ease and become excited about what food you will
experience? Well, at Lemongrass Asian Bistro in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida you will feel that and more. The aesthetics
alone are funky, chic, very South Beach clean and it is no
surprise that the food is the same way. Nothing is over done to
the point of losing its original purpose or construction which
leaves people reminded of why they came here in the first
place. The staff at Lemongrass Asian Bistro earns and is worthy
of every accolade they receive.
Lemongrass is an Asian Bistro featuring such wonderful items found all around
the continent of Asia. They do not serve any one specific country’s food, the
menu all encompassing. For an appetizer I had the Calamari Tempura that
was so crisp I felt like they used clean, fresh oil just for me. Fresh oil
really makes a big difference in the taste of fried food. The tempura was served
with a Sweet & Sour sauce that I would never have thought to put it with. It was
so delicious that I contemplated canceling everything else and getting seconds.
To my surprise my Green Dragon Roll showed up, which was literally the
largest roll I have ever seen. With sliced avocados overlapping, it truly gave
the impression of scales on a dragon. The roll was stuffed with cream cheese,
asparagus, and of course tempura shrimp. Just when I finished that they brought
me out my Entrée, Pad
Thai.
I didn’t think I could
finish it, but I did and was not disappointed in the least. Chef Andrew Zimmern
says that a true measure of a Thai restaurant is the quality of their Pad Thai,
this was beyond par.
With
all the accoutrements and sheer great quality of the food, price and service,
Lemongrass Asian Bistro is one of those places that you can go to weekly,
and never order the same thing twice. Next time I want to try the Marinated
Baby Octopus, Thai Salad, and Lemongrass Fried Rice.
