Il Mulino is quite possibly the most popular Italian restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and for good reason, the restaurant borders on perfection. From the expertly prepared meals to the impeccably clean restaurant with a contemporary feel and an open kitchen that brings life to dinner, this is Italian at it's best. I really can't think of very many restaurants that I'd rather eat in repeatedly. Oh and did I mention the service, it might be the most consistent service anywhere. On our most recent trip, three of the Mark's List gang dined. While we've had a good portion of the menu at one time or another, we all opted to try new things once again. We ordered Rigatoni Alla Vodka made with tomato, peas, pancetta, onions, vodka & cream, Lasagna Bolognese homemade sheet pasta layered with meat ragu, béchamel, mozzarella & Parmigiano cheese and Torta Ripiena filled with chicken, Portobello mushroom, eggplant, sun dried tomatoes, onions & mozzarella cheese with a side of rigatoni in a Porcini mushroom cream sauce blended with minced sausage. Sound good? It was. Not only were there no complaints, but the plates were empty in record time. On previous visits we've also had several pizzas, our favorite being the San Remo with grilled chicken, sun dried tomatoes, broccoli, tomato sauce & mozzarella and the Genovese made with grilled chicken, tomato, oregano, mozzarella & pesto sauce. Whether you like your pizzas traditional with sausage and pepperoni or a little bit on the wild side with toppings like clams, shrimp and spinach sauce, Il Mulino never fails to satisfy. The rest of the menu runs the gamut of Italian, from Spaghetti and Two Meatballs (I always get a kick out of that) to Shrimp Scampi or Linguini and Clams this is fine dining at it's finest and here's one last hint, save room for dessert. We guarantee you'll love the Canolis and you'll rave about all of the other desserts. Expect to leave very full! Il Mulino is authentic Italian in the heart of Fort Lauderdale.
