Honey Crust Pizza has been serving up pies in Sarasota for over 25 years. And as many of you know, in Florida any business that lasts 25 years is a considered a historic icon! Most qualify for "Point of Interest" markers along state roads.

Anyway, we've been eating at Honey Crust for about two-thirds of their existence. The Mousaka Pizza with egg plant and meatballs gets our vote for most different. Anyone that likes egg plant will love this pizza. Although I've never had more than a couple of bites, I actually think this is the place that invented the Hawaiian Pizza (with pineapple and ham). I just don't get the fruit on pizza thing. They also do a real cool B-L-T (bacon, lettuce and tomato) with ranch dressing. We're fans of more traditional pizzas, and Honey Crust offers over 20 toppings that includes all of the standard fare.

If the toppings, sauce and pizza aren't good enough, you're going to love the crust. Yup, it's got honey in it. The honey sweetens up the pie. We even think it helps make the crust extra crispy. Good pizza requires great freshly made dough and Honey Crust has that all figured out.

Besides the pizzas, there are burgers, fries, onion rings and lots of sides like fried cheese sticks. The menu is heavy on pasta. Honey Crust makes great oven toasted sandwiches, including a Gyro that will have you coming back again and again.
