All of their menu items are in Greek with English translations, so don’t worry, you will find something you like. I had been told about a wonderful Soup and Salad special, but I was in the mood for food, and I found on their large Lunch Menu a Chicken Pita with a side, at a very reasonable price. Of the list of sides, their Tomato Salad is exactly what I wanted and got. With fresh chopped Roma tomatoes, sliced onions, green peppers, and sliced cucumbers, the dressing was amazing and I forgot how much I loved it. The Chicken Pita is a warmed pita folded and stuffed with marinated grilled chicken, tomatoes, spinach, onions, and a Tzatziki sauce to die for. I had so much food that I was unable to order the Baklava (Phyllo, chopped walnuts and almonds, and drizzled with honey), but next time I will bring someone with me to share it. Greek Islands Taverna is the perfect place to go for almost any occasion, whether you are in a rush and call for Take Out, want to relax and talk, or sit down and do work while on a patio hidden from Ocean Boulevard. I promise you, the food alone will make you want to come back for more while the location is perfect for dropping by anytime. |

friend rave about Greek Islands Taverna on Ocean at Oakland Park
Blvd, on Fort Lauderdale Beach I knew I just had to go in. I
love Greek and Mediterranean food, being raised in a Sicilian household
helps. Most things in the summer had fresh tomatoes or cucumbers, with
cheese and garlic and

you remember from history, the Greek Empire spanned from India to Spain
and whatever land they conquered, they assimilated as well. When you
sit down, you are brought over Hummus with both white and
multigrain bread, but be careful not to fill up on it! They have a wide
variety of Mezes/Appetizers to choose from, which include dipping
sauces, Keftedes (char-broiled ground beef patties with mint,
parsley, and garlic), or my absolute favorite—Saganaki which is
Kefalatori Cheese that is flame broiled at the table with Brandy!
