Central Avenue Oyster Bar

A few years ago the owners of Crabby Bills Seafood wanted to provide an upscale dining experience that not only featured seafood, but steak and specialty dishes as well. So they hired a chef and staff and set out to create a unique dining experience, the Central Avenue Oyster Bar, in downtown St. Petersburg.  Over the years they have kept the restaurant intimate and the food delightful.

Central Avenue Oyster Bar serves oysters Mexican, Rockefeller, chipotle and on the half shell. As you would expect they also serve crab, calamari, tuna and the whole gamut of seafood. There are also steaks, poultry, pastas and salads.

The crab cake dinner is my favorite. The cakes are served Florida Style which means they use Old Florida Bay seasoning and cook them in a healthy dose of butter. I've also had the Filet Mignon and a friend of mine highly recommends the Pepper Crusted Ahi served with Wasabi Cream. Yeah, that's got to be hot.

I've never had bad service and this is definitely a first date place, especially if you're looking to make a good first impression.
