On Wednesday I went to Ka at Artbar as they were celebrating Champagne Bordeaux and Mikey Lords birthday. The place was filled with an eclectic mix of fun partygoers all dancing to DJ Danny’s music. Seen there was Power Infiniti, Jason Taminini (Halo), TP Lords, Glitz Glamour, Erika Norell, Mizz Cori, Richard Kortez, Noel Leon, Twat LaRouge, Angelique Ali, Dale Stine and Michael Murphy (photographers), and many more. 

Friday night GLAAD held the first of three Thank GLAAD It's Friday (TGIF) events at Georgie's Alibi in Wilton Manors. The event was hosted by local GLAAD members and on hand were several staff members, including Miriam Barnard from GLAAD's New York headquarters. Look for upcoming events on September 21 at Score, and October 19 at Rosie's.

On Saturday I headed over to Scandals which has turned out to be packed every Saturday with sexy Country men, and their admirers. This is what they used to call a real men’s bar!! The dance floor was hopping all night long with line dancing and all your other country favorites, and the drinks are real cheap. All you have to do is drive by any Saturday and you will see the K-Mart parking lot filed with cars!! Congrats to owners Ken and Lloyd and to my sister GM Howard Merritt on a job well done!!!!

That’s right, this weekend Georgie’s Alibi in St Pete will be celebrating their 7 Anniversary with a ton of events. Pride South Florida Board Member and Lube Lady, Ellen Friedman (formerly Hotspots and Buzz Magazine) had to go into emergency surgery to have 3 large masses removed from her lower abdomen. She will miss approximately 6 weeks of work, which she will not be compensated for. Her medical bills will be costly and her bills will begin to ple up if we do not pull together and help her out. The creator of the Hollywood Film Institute, Dov Simens, will be offering his highly acclaimed 2-Day Film School on August 25^th and 26^th in Miami , Florida . This is our first, but by no means our last, communication with you concerning the new building and our relationship with Tarragon. The Board of Directors is very committed to ensuring the future of the GLCC, which includes overseeing the new building project. With that, please be aware that Tarragon Corporation, our current real estate development partner, has reported on its poor financial performance and future outlook. Several months ago the GLCC retained additional legal counsel and proactively engaged Tarragon in negotiations for the GLCC to complete the building project independent of them. While the GLCC is somewhat protected from Tarragon's current vulnerability, the situation is not risk-free. We are weighing options carefully and are extremely optimistic about our strategy to further protect our interests. Please know that we have a team of carefully selected leaders from the community and highly experienced legal counsel working diligently on our behalf.
