On a trip out on a speedboat, Adrien introduces Manu to Sarah and Mehdi, a young couple who have just had their first child. Clip Film Series presents: The Curiosity of Chance on January 23, at 7:30p.m. at Muvico Baywalk, St. Pete. Tickets, $9.00 Student, $7.00 Order Tickets at cliptampabay.com. Writer/Director Russell P. Marleau gives the John Hughes-styled high school comedy a queer twist in this touching coming-of-age tale. It's the 1980's, when new wave angst and gender-bending fashion were all the rage. The new kid at school Chance Marquis (Tad Hilgenbrinck of American Pie Presents: Band Camp), however, is out. And his being a gay, somewhat awkward teenager makes him the target of the school bully. To deal with this dilemma, Chance turns to the opposite ends of the high school spectrum for help. On one end is the flamboyant drag queen and at the other, the varsity jock, Levi Sparks (Brett Chukerman of Eating Out 2) on whom Chance has a bit of a crush. Chockfull of the comic conventions of the high school genre - the idiot faculty, the good-hearted but delusional parents, the fairy tale reversal of popularity - The Curiosity of Chance is a frothy bit of nostalgic filmmaking. But like with the best of John Hughes, knowing the genre doesn't mean its story won't also touch your heart.

Instinct Features 1st Openly-Gay Chippendales Performer on its February Swimsuit Issue Cover

Instinct travels to Sin City for its February swimsuit issue cover story on aerialist Brandon Pereyda, the first openly-gay performer in the world famous Chippendales troupe. Instinct editor Mike Wood spent a weekend following 23-year-old Pereyda around Vegas to find out what it's like to be the lone out member of the shirtless, bow-tie-wearing institution - and how he feels about performing in front of countless screaming women each night! "I guess it is monumental for this company," Pereyda notes. "Chippendales guys are often pegged as being gay. And they're not. And I think this will clear the slate." He continues, "They're all straight, but we would do anything for each other and that's what I really love about working here. They don't view my be gay as a negative thing at all." Born and raised in Las Vegas, Brandon didn't have an easy time being gay and growing up with a devout Jehovah's Witness for a father. He explains how, at age 16, he clashed with his father over religion. "The thing with the church and trying to impress my father was I was trying to do what was right for him," Pereyda recalls. "I thought it was something in me that was evil. I tried to suppress and change it. And at the age of 16, it got to the point where I finally said, 'I am my own person. I am the way I am because God made me the way I am.'" Instinct's February issue also boasts 14 pages of knockout swimsuit models, plus exclusive interviews with Broadway legends Idina Menzel and Loretta Devine.
