The Queen
This an
interesting look into the life of Queen Elizabeth II (Helen
Mirren) and how she and the royal family reacted
to the tragic death of Princess Diana.
This movie
was able to shine some light on the subject and expose what
it must be like to be the Queen, a regal an noble person who
does not, or is not supposed to show her emotion. I love
that this movie came out while she is still alive and still
the queen, even though it may have painted a bit of a
prettier picture than what it is really like in reality. It
still gave me more respect and admiration for her and her
role.
I love that
they included lots of actual footage making the story so
real and memorable to that time of our lives, for everyone
remembers where they were when they found out Princess Di
had passed. I also loved
Helen Mirren, for she
is truly believable as the Queen, she was spectacular, and
this must be a difficult task to impersonate someone that is
still alive, and do it so impressively.
As a person
who's face is often in the press it was most interesting for
me to watch her, and see how she reacts for she is always in
the public eye. Every little thing she does is scrutinized
by everyone that can see. It was great to see her face
doing things her way, or doing what her public expected her
to do. How would you publicly morn someone that you never
really liked to begin with?
Go see this
movie, it started off really slow and I was irritated that I
was even watching it, but then it sucked me in and I was
interested to see what was going to happen and how she would
deal with her issues.
