Amnesia: The James Brighton Enigma GO SEE IT ****(Four Stars)

What would it be like to wake up naked in a parking lot and have no memory of why you are there or even of who you are?  Thus the investigation into The James Brighton Enigma.  This journey took off a little slow, but then became compelling and intriguing.   As the audience you can not help but sympathize with the main character (Dusan Dukic), as he regains his life and memories.

This is a Gay interest film for when he wakes up the only thing he can remember is that he is gay, and the name James Brighton, assuming that is his name. The rest of his memory is gone.  The acting was pretty good.  Dusan Dukic is believable in this role, and you could see his pain and frustration.  But the filming was a step above mediocre.

This is based on a true story, and yet it  has a sense of mystery. The film starts off with a lesbian researching his case for her senior thesis, as she discovers more information we are given more information.

You should also know this is also a Bi-Lingual film in both French Canadian and English so you do have to read captions for half the movie.  However, as you dive into the film you start to forget that you were reading the film and that this was a lower budget independent film.

Go see this film, it's a realistic struggle and a dilemma that heaven forbid anyone of us could face and therefore the drama feels real.
