Thanks to the director Francis Lawrence, I am Legend is intensely captivating.  From the previews I was afraid that I Am Legend would be reminiscent of Cast Away; a lonely storyline with one and only one actor.  This was not the case. I actually sat on the edge of my seat, holding my breath in anticipation on several occasions. 

The future is truly frightening in this suspenseful thriller.  The New York City set is sadly realistic, and the explanation as to why the humans are infected and destined to become dark seekers is believable.  There seems to be no hope for Robert Neville (Will Smith), he seems to be the last man alive.  I won't spoil the story,  you must go and see why he becomes a legend.   

Will Smith is also incredible in this role, showing a full spectrum of emotion, and desire.   He sucks you in and makes you understand and believe why he does what he does.   You even understand and sympathize when he goes crazy. 

Go see this movie, you will leave the theatre truly feeling as though you have been on a very interesting journey.... I almost want to say a journey to Hell and back..... Almost.
