Misty Eyez Drag Queen Movie Reviews
Misty Eyez
UMM It was Good *** (Three Stars)

Can I just say that I expected so much more, and was, dare I say, let down by this movie.  That being said I will also say that the acting and character development for this movie were probably the best I have seen in a long time.  Star Toni Collette brought so much to the table with this movie. She had to play several roles and did each of them impeccably.   Yes she was a bit psychotic, but she did it perfectly.   Robin Williams also was an all star choice for this role, and I must say that it was a pleasure seeing him play an openly gay character. Yes the movie lacked any true physical or sexual scenes, but you believed his emotional pain when he was breaking up with his super hot boyfriend, Bobby Cannavale, who was first made famous to the gay community as Will's boyfriend on TV's Will and Grace.

This intellectual thriller had such promise in the beginning, and actually starts off as a deep and penetrating story based on actual events and or facts.   The concept was deeply moving.  It also got a bit interesting when the characters become psychotic.   So from the get go you are ready for the shock value and the moral dilemma -- However there is never a real climax and it was never fully developed into an engaging story.  I left the theatre frustrated and begging for more, and honestly I was not alone. I asked several of the guys that went to the advanced screener with me and almost all of them were truly disappointed. They felt that this could have actually been the preview for a really good movie that is still yet to come out and develop the plot.
