Are you ready for a fun and campy gay movie that pokes fun
at itself? If you are, then The Mostly Unfabulous
Social Life of Ethan Green
is for you. This is a story following the mostly unfabulous
Ethan Green (Daniel
Letterle whom you may know from
Camp) who like most
of us is struggling in the dating world in a realistic and
humorous way. This is like the gay movie version of
Sex and the City.
Guys openly discuss their problems and freely talk about
their sexual likes and dislikes. There are many scenes of
them often flopping in and out of each others bed. |
|
The supporting cast was brilliant, especially
Meredith Baxter (who
used to play Alex P. Keaton's mother and now plays Harper
Ethan Green's mother), she is both beautiful and hilarious.
Who knew she could be a foul mouthed fag hag mother who
lives with her son's ex-boyfriend and works as a wedding
coordinator for gay weddings. I could not get enough of her
in this film. |
|
They push the limits with camp every chance they get. For
example, the Hat Sisters (Joel
Brooks and
Richard Riehle) were
surprisingly realistic and fun.

My favorite scene is when they went on the chat line. The
guys were reading their profiles out loud and they did not
resemble what they were saying in any way. It was great and
all too true. |

This is a silly and fun movie with tongue in cheek humor
that I highly recommend to both the straight and gay
community. It's a common story, guy cannot find love,
yet he continually tries and he constantly fails.
Constantly falling in and out of love on a regular
basis. They covered all the basis in this film; they
had the Twink, the Jock, the old queen, the gay
republican, the ex boyfriend, the lesbian friend and the
fag hag mom. Each of their intricate roles and how they
played into the story were great. Go see this movie!
You will laugh and you will relate. |
