Misty Eyez Drag Queen Movie Reviews
Misty Eyez
Umm It was good ***(Three Stars)

This fast paced high intensity movie is all about fast cars and Hot girls.  We meet this young high school boy named Shawn (Lucas Black) who travels from town to town with his single mother, but once he gets in trouble with the law (we don't know why or for what he got in trouble) he has to either go to jail or go visit/live with his father in Japan.  Once in Japan he has to deal with his distant father and with feeling as an outsider in a foreign country with a major language barrier, and there he meets up with the bad crowd, or the Japanese mafia.

He befriends Twinkie (Lil Bow Wow) and Han (Sung Kang) and together they help teach him how to race and Drift.  Its all about the Drift (Peeling out while spinning sideways.)  This is like the old chicken movies or race off movies where winner takes all.  Of course with the drama of him being attracted to DK "Drift King" (Brian Tee) who is the enemies girl Neela (Nathalie Kelley.)  I dont know why im really telling you about the characters for there is really not much character development in this film its mostly about the racing and the very realistic car crashing action.   However you do get a glimpse into DK's frustration as he begins to sweat and panic as he starts to loose a race.
The best thing about this movie other than the racing was the exposure of the raw and uninhibited Japanese culture, with the cramped shops and buildings.
My favorite line is when Han (Sung Kang) is Telling Shawn (Lucas Black) why he decided to believe in him and he said: "I have money but what I need around me now is character.  Who you choose to be around, truly shows who you really are"
I am afraid that this movie will encourage reckless driving and people trying to drift in the parking lot or race and weave in and out of traffic.  However it is an enjoyable and fun movie with fast cars, and will ensure a fun ride.

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
Action/Adventure. Shaun Boswell (Lucas Black), who has always been an outsider. A loner at school, his only connection to the indifferent world around him is through illegal street racing -- which has made him particularly unpopular with the local authorities. To avoid jail time, Shaun is sent out of the country to live with his uncle in the military, in a cramped apartment in a low-rent section of Tokyo. In the land that gave birth to the majority of modified racers on the road, the simple street race has been replaced by the ultimate pedal-to-the-metal, gravity-defying automotive challenge ... drift racing, a deadly combination of brutal speed on heart stopping courses of hairpin turns and switchbacks. For his first unsuccessful foray in drift racing, Shaun unknowingly takes on D.K., the "Drift King," with ties to the Yakuza, the Japanese crime machine. The only way he can pay off the debt of his loss is to venture into the deadly realm of the Tokyo underworld, where the stakes are life and death. 104 minutes. MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for reckless and illegal behavior involving teens, violence, language and sexual content).
