Umm I didn't like this movie but you might, especially if
you are a fan of campy fun cult classic movies. The first
time I watched this movie I felt it was painful to endure
however the second time I watched Surge of Power: The Stuff
of Heroes got much funnier and I have to tell you if you’re
a fan of
The Rocky Horror Picture Show and
can laugh at the silly then this is your movie. |

Are you ready for a gay super hero? The good thing is this
movie is just that a gay guy who becomes a gay super hero.
I also enjoyed that this movie was quite obviously made for
a gay audience for both the lines and actors were over the
top very gay. Once you are capable of looking past the
extremely low budget and the over acting this movie becomes
a tongue in cheek funny film.
Vincent J. Roth the
writer/ producer/ and star of this film will be at all the
midnight showings at the gateway in Fort Lauderdale, and he
will also be all around town helping to promote this movie
at several clubs. |

My one annoyance, and I don't know why this happened if it
was due to the low budget or if he was a producer, or the
directors boyfriend or how this made it past the editing
room, but there was this huge actor who was a camera hog and
was in every scene as many different characters from a hot
dog vendor to a comic salesman to a cook to a guy walking by
etc... it was annoying he was in every scene and every time
I saw this guy it irritated me. |

Surge of Power: The Stuff of
Heroes Comedy.
This humorous sci-fi flick follows a fan of comic books, who
picks up a comic book called SURGE OF POWER, which is about
a guy who is a fan of...you guessed it, comic books. As he
reads about his fictional doppelganger, life imitates art,
our real-life hero turns into a superhero. Vincent J. Roth
stars, and appearances from genre stars Lou Ferrigno and
Nichelle Nichols add to the melee. 85 minutes. Not Rated.
