BEYOND LOVED IT ******(Six out to Five Stars) |

Everyone Needs a Hero and
Bryan Singer provided
just that, he has a unique gift of making a fantasy story
look and appear as if it were believable all along. I was
completely blown away by this truly spectacular movie. In
fact this may be the best movie I have ever seen, it is
nothing short of amazing and it definitely helps that Clark
Kent / Superman is played by the totally gorgeous 6'4 (Brandon
Routh) who has an amazing resemblance to
Christopher Reeves. |

Instead of retelling the same old story, this is a
sequel to the 1978 original Superman:
The Movie picking up a few years after
that movie has taken off. Please note this is like a
part three; do not be confused by the other sequels for
they do not exist in the storyline, yet this one closely
connects itself with the original, with dialog and
flashbacks to Kallel, and was somewhat biblical in its
"I've sent my only son to the earth to save its
people" It is true that the legend of Superman lives in
each of us no matter what level we are all touched by
the fantasy of being the man of steel. It was obvious
their were no stops in the budget for this film was over
the top, even the credits were graphically stimulating.

The movie starts off in a sort of haze and it takes a second
to figure out what's going on or where they are, and then
you are lead by the hand to the all knowing path of what's
happening. Clark Kent / Superman returns for he was away
checking on his home planet to see if Krypton was really and
truly destroyed, which it was and realizing that he is the
last living heir to the planet. The plot picks up with Lois
Lane (Kate
Bosworth) who was obviously heart broken at
Superman's disappearance and worked hard not only to
convince herself but everyone else that they didn't need
him, yet the second he has returned she is back to being the
damsel in distress. The best scene is when there was a
Touchdown in a Baseball game. If your going to do it -- Do
it big. Superman is back and everyone in the world series
was witness.

The graphics were intense, and the special effects were
great, I loved that the supersonic hearing was robotic.
There were also several hilarious laugh out loud scenes.
For example, when Lex Luthor (Kevin
Spacey) rips off his wig and hands it to a little
girl and she screams, it was funny. Lex's Girlfriend is
Kitty (Parker
Posey) who is just as cold and evil as Lex yet
you are some what warmed up to her because she is like a
re-incarnate of Karen Walker from TV's will and Grace. |
|
BEWARE: I should tell you that just as there are several
funny scenes there are equally just as many disturbing
scenes, and you may want to bring a tissue for you will
probably get a bit Misty Eyed. This movie was so great I
didn't realize the movie was almost 3 hours long until after
it was over. Go see this movie now, you will be in for an
unbelievalbe journey -- hearts will patter and
Bryan Singer will
soar. I cannot tell you enough you will love this movie for
it rules, and if you have an IMAX near you some of the
scenes are in IMAX 3D. |
