Go See It ****(FOUR STARS)

If you are a fan of Horror, grosse out blood and gore then this is your movie.  I have to admit this is the best horror movie I have seen in several years, not only were the special effects spectacular but there was actually a plot, or a story line, and this movie made me jump several times and scream out loud, all the while serving me a plot and story line that made sense, it wasn't just senseless brutal killings he was on sort of a mission.  I was almost sympathetic to him for he was doomed to a life of torment from the very beginning, thanks to his crazy religiously abusive mother.

The most shocking thing about this movie to me was that it was a WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment - pro wrestling, formerly WWF) movie, and therefore obviously stared a WWE icon KANE (Glen Jacobs) also known as the undertaker which this role was very similar to his professional WWE role, as the man that takes lives a huge 7ft tall 400 lbs killing machine.  Once I saw the opening credits as a movie by WWE my expectations went down the drain but I must say I was pleasantly surprised, for I thoroughly enjoyed myself, this movie was great, and it didn't have anything to do with wrestling.
In the opening scene the SUPER HOTT cop dies, and I was so sad I almost cried he was gorgeous.  Yet we as an audience grow compassionate for his partner (the other cop) as time goes on.  This film really made sense, there was a rehabilitation program for some of the juvenile delinquents and they selected 3 guys and 3 girls with a male and female officer to accompany them to this beautiful abandoned/condemned hotel as a fixer upper project.  Three days work takes off a month of their sentence it all made perfect sense.   Only they didn't know the monster lived within these walls, and by that I mean within the secret tunnels and passageways.  I loved that every room had a two-way mirror and the beds had bell triggers so that it would notify the grand master every time someone got into bed, whoever created that hotel was definitely a pervert.
These poor kids barely had a chance for they were plucked off one by one in these brutal death scenes all the while the monster is still mentally torturing himself with images of his childhood and mother with her strict Christian beliefs.
It has been a long time since I have seen a horror movie that actually made sense and continually got better and better as the film went on, if you are a fan of horror then you must go see this film it rocked.  You wont see deep character development its a slasher movie, but you will get to know the characters and you will at least follow a story line.  This film was great and it actually really made me cringe.

Go See It ****(FOUR STARS)

Excellent scare!

Don't let this one fool you, just because it is based after a video game doesn't mean that it is rated PG13.  A group of juvenile delinquents are sent to clean a hotel over the weekend as their "get off early insensitive". Little do they realize crazy man Jacob Goodnight is awaiting the in the rotting hotel. When one of the teens is captured, those who remain band together to survive against the brutal psychopath.  Actor Glen Jacobs (Jacob Goodnight) will give you the chills as he carves the eyes out of his prey.
The set design in this movie incredible,  it just keeps getting creepier and creepier as the movie flies forward.  The dialog is hip and easy to relate to as a young adult.  Director Gregory Dark takes sharp corners when you least expect it providing great cinematography.
This movie is a great scare, but it is also psychologically stimulating with an excellent storyline.  The special effects rival most other box office horror hits this year. You definitely should try and see this evil.
