A Prairie Home Companion
Comedy, Drama, Musical/Performing Arts and Adaptation. On a
rainy Saturday night in St. Paul, Minnesota, fans file into

sold to a Texas conglomerate and that tonight's show will be
the last. Starring: Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones,
Garrison Keillor, Kevin Kline, and Lindsay Lohan. 105
minutes. MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for risque humor).

This is an ironic tale of how every journey must come to an
end, and its funny how
Garrison Keillor plays
himself on his final radio show which in reality has not
come to an end and is still on the radio. This movie was
very much like a reality program showing all the behind the
scene aspects of what would happen while taping the show,
and if you are watching me sleep it may not be that
entertaining but its real.

I was eager to see this film full of an over abundance of
talent, for this movie has an all star cast, Woody
Harrelson,
Kevin Kline, Meryl
Streep, Lily
Tomlin,
Lindsay Lohan,
Tommy Lee Jones, John
C. Reilly, and Garrison
Keillor. It was great to see all this power
players play equal and humble roles on the big screen
sharing the stage equally yet demanding their own bit of
attention in their special ways yet none of them seem to be
acting it was great. |

I went with 5 people that were big fans of the radio
show and
Garrison Keillor and
they loved every second of it. I however not having any
idea what to expect definitely enjoyed the show but felt it
was a bit slower than I would have expected it to be. Yet
very real to the National Public Radio that it is
portraying. |

I loved the part where Garrison
was talking about duct tape for 5 minutes while
they were trying to look for something, it was an obvious
stalling technique but it was humorous and fun. My favorite
song was the song Lefty and Dusty (John
C. Reilly and
Woody Harrelson) sing
about bad jokes and I think I laughed out loud the most
during this song, I also really enjoyed the depressed and I
think closet gay Lola Johnson (Lindsay
Lohan) who was stuck writing poems about death
and suicide but her hand and book were covered in Equal
rights simples and she doodled Equality and another girls
name on her book. This is not an issue brought to the front
but an obvious effort was put into bringing your attention
to it if you were sensitive to such symbols.

This movie is not for everyone, a more older and refined or
cultured taste would enjoy this movie. You must be a big
fan of the AM radio or a fan of artistic talent and slower
moving films but there are several messages her for you to
take away with you and if you go you will enjoy this film,
but go with lowered expectations. |
