A true disappointment, this film fell short of its
predecessor. I expected more and It was a fight to stay
awake I was so bored. Essentially I left the theatre
feeling as though I had wasted three hours. On a good note
I must tell you the Costumes and Makeup for the barnacle /
oceanic people were amazing. Yes the CGI Graphics were
intense, and that is true, but any assumption of a plot was
lacking, it felt as just a 3 hour stretch between the first
film and the yet to come part 3, that being said this film
was just entirely too long, and I have to admit it was
painful to watch. I went to an advanced screener with 20
adults and most of them could not even understand it, many
of the scenes were useless and added for unneeded stretch
time. For example why was Captain Jack Sparrow a king for a
day of the small island, and about to be made into an meal
offering? Did they really need that? The surprising thing
is there is no closure, the last several minutes of the
movie set up part three's plot. |

I was shocked that this was a Disney film for I felt it was
incredibly dark, and if you want your child to be afraid of
the ocean and its inhabitants this is your film. Honestly I
really wanted to like this film, for
Orlando Bloom (Will
Turner) and
Johnny Depp (Jack
Sparrow) are lovely, and not to mention I really enjoyed the
first movie. I suggest you wait till this one comes to DVD. |
|
By the way, there were some unexpected funny parts that
snuck up on you with slapstick physical comedy. If you live
on the ocean or beach do not let your child see this movie,
for the King Kong sized Octopus would be enough to keep
your child from ever getting in the ocean. |
|
Take my word, and wait till this movie hits the DVD's you
will not be disappointed, otherwise you will be kicking
yourself in the neck if you go see this in the film. Yes
its that bad especially with some of the other great summer
blockbuster movies out there. |
