Go See It ****(Four Stars) |
|
|
This movie is about the beginning of the end, do not go see
this movie if you are religiously superstitious. Not only
was this movie released on 06,06,06 but it was all about a
child, or should I say the son of the devil named Damien
born on That date. This movie was creepy, and spine
chilling with intense graphics. The only thing that could
have made this movie better would be to say in the beginning
(leap forward 5 years) instead of saying 5 years ago a child
was born, so that he could have been born on the day the
movie was released thus launching the apocalypse. |

If you enjoyed
Final Destination
and
The Da Vinci Code
this movie will be right up your ally with its freak
accidents that appear to be more than a coincidence, and
then the religious mystery solving puzzle however this movie
doesn't really include you in the explanation of the how or
why; you kind of have to figure it out on your own. The
movie did open with actual events leading to its explanation
with the twin towers, and hurricanes etc. |

On this journey we follow the politician Robert Thorn (Liev
Schreiber) and his wife Katharine (Julia
Stiles) and we start in the delivery room where
their baby boy was killed just after birth but coincidently
another boy was born at the same time and his mother died in
birth and has no family so they gave Mr and Mrs Thorn the
other baby boy to raise, the first mistake was him never
telling his wife this was not their child. They then move
to Great Britain where most the movie takes place, after a
freak accident where the nanny kills herself the stunning
Mia Farrow (Rosemary's
Baby) becomes the child's new nanny / guardian
mrs baylock where her sole purpose is to groom Damien (Seamus
Davey-Fitzpatrick) for the role he has ahead. |

This movie was intense and I do recommend you see it, the
two scariest parts are on the preview trailer so its not
really a horror or scary film but the real scare is that the
devil incarnate could inhabit a child on earth to take over
and lead to mass destruction. This movie stayed very true
to its original only more modern setting and characters etc
so the original fans will be pleased.
