I was hesitant to see
Mission: Impossible III because
of how horrible
Mission: Impossible 2 was,
well that and I just have not been a Tom
Cruise fan lately. I went into this theatre
ready and almost eager to Hate it. Let me tell you I was
blown away by the death defying stunts, the impossible
missions completed in a realistic manor, and the incredible
special effects. Part 3 surpasses both its predecessors
part one and part two. Hats off to the director
J.J. Abrams who is a
first time feature movie director and is most known for his
directing work for
Alias, Felicity, and
Lost. If he was
attempting to launch the summer blockbuster season with a
phenomenal movie he can rest assured his Mission was
Accomplished, it is absolutely breath taking from the high
paced action, to the incredible scenery in Berlin, the
Vatican and China. You can rest assured this big budget was
obviously put to good use. |

If you have been reading my reviews you know that I can
really enjoy a movie that is believable and that goes into
great character development and this movie does just that.
We start off with the familiar Ethan Hunt (Tom
Cruise) being
tormented, and tortured into revealing the truth about what
he did with the "Rabbit's Foot" if he doesn't tell him
within 10 second he will kill Ethan's Wife Julia (Michelle
Monaghan) Wow, what an intense intro. After the
opening credits we go back to see the intense love that
their relationship is based on, you see that she works in a
hospital and has no idea what Ethan's real job is, but you
get to relate to them as people first which is important.
Ethan Hunt (the same as the first two movies) has retired to
becoming an instructor teaching the agents to work on the
field, and then one of his former students is Lindsay (Keri
Russell) missing in action, and they ask Ethan
Hunt (Tom
Cruise) to go back into the field and help with
this mission. I don't know why, and I don't know how but
Tom Cruise was
incredible, yes he was mainstream as always, but he has
changed or developed as an actor and became so much more,
this was the best role I have ever seen Ethan Hunt
Tom Cruise play. |

Keri Russell was good
she played the typical cute and innocent blonde bombshell
turned victim and then needed to be rescued but it was nice
to see her transform from
Felicity to Action
Fighter Chick. But I must tell you the best actor in this
entire move was
Philip Seymour Hoffman.
He played a villain who was definitely a force to be
reckoned with. He was brilliant and amazingly through in
his many levels of character development and
believability. My Favorite scene in this movie is where
Tom Cruise becomes Owen
(Philip
Seymour Hoffman) it was unbelievable yet
believable, I was shocked and amazed. The only part of the
film I was left dumbfounded is when they were able to find
Owen when everyone thought he was dead. |
|
On side note it was funny to watch
Tom Cruise go from
extremely short (shorter than his wife) while he is walking
and then when they are stinging still and embracing he is
much taller.... HMM? I also wish I would have paid
attention to movies like this when I was in school, for
watching this team try to attempt the impossible they used
incredible math skills not to mention they were well versed
in several languages.

Mission: Impossible III is
a Great Big Budget Summer Blockbuster movie it is so
exciting and well orchestrated. This movie is sure to be in
the theatres for a long while. Im excited to be giving this
movie a great recommendation even thought I was sure to not
like this movie. But it left me no choice this title
appropriate movie is believable, powerful, emotional, and
full of high intensity action. Unless you are a chronic
nail bitter and trying to quit, I think that you should make
it your Mission to go see this movie, and the best part is
that they left it open to a part four. |
