Ummm....
It was Good ***(Three Stars ) |
|
|
If you want to go see a light hearted film that will make
you laugh, while poking fun at the stupid rich then this
will be most definitely be an enjoyable sit for you. I
have to admit it is quite humorous to sit back and watch the
trials and tribulations of the rich and famous. I must
tell you however there are no climactic scenes where you as
the audience are challenged or forced to consider your
reason for living. Nor will you have any deep emotional
growth but all in all this movie was definitely fun, and
dare I say a bit superficial. |
|
I got the impression it really didn't matter what the movie
was about as long as we were watching
Hilary Duff &
Haylie Duff. This was
nothing more than a major motion vehicle for the Duff
sisters to further their careers, and or provide an
opportunity for these girls to work together. That being
said, can we talk about the soundtrack, can it not be full
of sappy duets also from the Duff Sisters. I know that
sounds really harsh, but on a good note I should tell you
that both
Hilary Duff &
Haylie Duff were
surprisingly brilliant in their skills and abilities as
actors, and far surpassed my expectations of them. It
could probably go unsaid that they also had incredible
chemistry. I also have to give special props to Hilary for
letting her big sister take the lead in this movie for it is
clear that
Hilary was the superior
talent. |
|
The storyline is quite simplistic in nature and in this
storyline we follow two sisters Tranzie, Oops I mean Tanzie &
Ava who are played by
Hilary Duff &
Haylie Duff. They are
totally and completely materialistic and totally superficial
and cunty. My favorite line being "Oh, thank you. When
I'm
done with my dress maybe I'll give it to you." The two
sisters star in this movie about the beauty business and go
from not having a care in the world to having to truly care
about what is really happening in their business and when
doing that they have to face some harsh realities of who
they can trust and who they cannot. You will be pleased to
know that
Anjelica Huston plays
Fabiella and is an added bonus in this film for she plays
her typical bitchy character. |
|
There are some totally bogus and super fake scenes that were
both retarded and nearly impossible, like when all the cell
phones tuned in the TV News channel at the same time. Not
to mention the scene when the fire was started instead of
putting out the rug they grab the TiVo machine and a nice
dress and let the house burn down. Umm Ok? I will say
however it was also cute seeing the heiresses taking public
transportation when they were down on their luck.
|
|
Again I will say this is a fun movie that will surely make
you smile if not laugh, and you will leave the theatre
thinking "OMG, it was Totally Cute!". I also love that
they both looked up to and borrowed from
Erin Brockovich for
it is a truly Great film. Not only did they take
inspiration from this movie but it also started to take on
the exact feeling where the underdog is taking on a major
tycoon.
|
|
PS its a good rule to be nice to others for you never know
when you will have to go back to one of the people you were
rude to and ask for a favor, like when they were rude to the
lawyer and then needed his help. Oops! |
