If you are a
fan of Underdog films, or movies that make you feel better
about yourself and life as you leave the theatre then
this is right up your alley. I know the title is a bit dare
I say alarming? I confess, When I got this screener I was
reluctant to put it in for I just knew it would end up
pissing me off. However I will tell you soon after it was
on it had me sucked in and I was really into this movie.

This is a short journey into the life of the best
selling author Neale Donald Walsch ( played by
Henry Czerny) The
movie starts off with Neale getting into a car accident that
broke his neck and crippling him to the point that he was
not able to work. He then became homeless. While homeless
he was determined to get out of the mess he was in and tried
not to get too discouraged. While he was at his lowest
point ,not just physically, but mentally he was broken and
God reached out to him and started talking to him. He chose
Neale to be a messenger for he was ready to listen, and he
did. He also began to write what he was hearing and then
ask questions in return. This is where his book,
Conversations with God, came from and hence the
autobiographical movie also titled
Conversations with God. |

This movie is a bit
spiritual, however it is not in any way preachy or
condemning to the readers of this website. The book sold
Millions and Millions of copy's so he must be doing
something right. You need to be a fan of independent films
to really appreciate the structure of the film especially
some of the seminar scenes. The acting was horrible, and
the cast were probably friends of the directors, but the
character's emotions are genuine and the point of the movie
was clear. |
