Go see this Movie ****(Four Stars) |

Judging from the trailer it really appeared that this
Adam Sandler was going
to be just like his last movie and the movie before that, a
fun ride yet very repetitive. However I must tell you this
movie is surprisingly really very good. I went into this
film expecting the silly somewhat retarded humor that he
tends to portray, and yet I got a phenomenal movie with an
incredible message. Adam Sandler has most defiantly shown
that he is capable of playing a serious character in
contrast to his usually obscene characters, and this movie
was probably his best role yet, he was brilliant. Yes he
was still funny in this film but in a much more of a
refined, toned down and intelligent way of being funny.
Adam Sandler played
Michael Newman an everyday regular father of two and loving
husband of the stunningly beautiful Donna (Kate
Beckinsale) and just like married people they
have frustrations while raising a family, especially while
trying to balance a stressful career. |
|
One of those frustrations is the fact that they have too
many remotes, one for the toy car, the toy plane, the
garage, the ceiling fan, the TV, the VCR etc etc... and when
he cannot turn on his own television and instead turns on
toy helicopter that hits him in the head he is determined to
get a remote for everything. Much to his surprise the
eerie Morty (Christopher
Walken) was there to give him the remote that
controlled just that everything, his dog his wife and once
he realized he could fast forward fights, and arguments and
traffic he started to do so on a regular basis and then with
the intelligence of the remote it would remember what he
liked to fast forward and do so automatically. |
|
Surprise Ladies and Gentlemen life happens when you
are stuck in traffic or when you have to take a shower and
to skip that was to skip major important parts of his life,
and only did he realize that once it was too late. |
|
You will definitely laugh, but I will warn you if you tend
to get a bit Misty Eyed in a movie bring a tissue there is a
few tear jerking scenes, for this is more than your typical
comedy its a life journey and I left the Theatre reflecting
on the important things and people in my life, re evaluating
the relationships that I deem important. Then you are stuck
in the situation that everything that you have dreamt of or
hoped for has happened career wise but much to the sacrifice
of your own personal happiness or that happiness of your
family. |
|
I definitely think that you should go see this movie for its
simply brilliant, and surprisingly touching. In fact it
shocked me at how much I really enjoyed this film, I wont
tell you how it ends but I will say that you leave the
theatre felling fulfilled and justified for the movie did
its job it took you on a thrilling journey and then brought
you right back home to drop you off. |

of his career, comes across a universal remote that allows

begins creating its own memory and choosing what to
fast-forward over, the man sees how much of his personal
life has passed him by and realizes the importance of
spending more time with his family. 107 minutes. MPAA
Rating: PG-13 (for language, crude and sex related humor and
some drug references).
