LOVED IT *****(FIVE STARS) |

Wow,
20 centimeters is an
amazing film, and yet the premise is so far off into left
field that it's brilliant. Go on an interesting journey
with a narcoleptic (a disorder that causes you to
uncontrollably fall asleep) pre operative Transsexual
prostitute named Marieta (Mónica
Cervera) who desperately wants to cut off her 20
centimeters. The ironic thing is that she has this huge nine
inch (20 cm) tool and hates it, and yet its coveted by most
everyone she knows. All of her clients and co-workers want
it and yet she doesn't |

There was so much talent and
though put into this film for the very inception of thought
was intricate and detailed, stay tuned to the work of this
films writer and director
Ramón Salazar. His
technique was very much like a a reality show in that it is
a raw and uninhibited look into her life. You see her
struggle in near poverty and you hear her dream and talk
about how bad she wants a beautiful pussy. Wow, I don't
know how it could be any weirder. From her rough trade
clients to her roommate that is a jobless dwarf who
scalps tickets for money and they share a bed but are not
dating. Not to mention you meet several different
transsexuals and other prostitutes that work the street with
her in this movie, some of which support her and some of
which are very jealous of her, just like in our real lives. |

It does focus on the dirty and
cheap life of a prostitute but it also has a fairy tale
theme where she does fall in love with a man that truly
accepts her for who she is, but being she does not truly
love herself (penis and all) is she truly capable of loving
him back? Thus being the big struggle of the movie. |

My favorite parts of the film
is when every time she has a narcoleptic attack she has
these very vivid and colorful dreams full of musical
productions in which she was the star. Girls pay attention
some of these would be great show ideas. Full of great
costumes and talented dancers. I should also tell you this
film is in Spanish with English subtitles. |

You must go see this film, it is incredible, it is funny
and it is not only wacky its just plain bizarre but most of
all its fun. I don't know how they managed to make a part
time musical comedy about something so bizarre and unique as
transsexual prostitution. Knowing that America is not
very good at supporting distributing foreign films, try your
hardest to see this for its truly genius. |
