Passages is the
Gay
Pride Bookstore
for Guys and Girls in South Florida. The lambda symbol
has many meanings to many different people. Among them is the synergy that
is created when the Gay and Lesbian family work together.
You won't find video booths and peep shows here. They stock a large
selection of gay and lesbian literature, art, as well as self-help, coming
out, and books on religion and homosexuality. A while back, Morningside
and Bell Meade were almost exclusively Gay enclaves. While these
neighborhoods have been discovered by the straight folk, they're still
quite funky, laid back and easy going. For as long as anyone can remember Lambda Passages
Bookstore has been a mainstay of these communities.
Also located nearby are
several great shops including,
Karma Car Wash and Cafe
and
U. D. Style Lab. There's also a
great farmers market on Saturdays from 9 AM to 3 PM down the street.
With that said, you can shop, hang out and make an evening or afternoon
out of
this up and coming neighborhood.
