Espresso
Vivace in Seattle, WA is a family owned business, founded in
1988 by the husband and wife team of David Schomer and Geneva Sullivan.
The company charter is to research, develop, and promote caffe espresso
as a culinary art. Naturally, in this pursuit Vivace continually strives
to source the highest quality coffee beans to create their two blends,
Espresso Vita and Espresso Dolce. For espresso featuring sweet roast
only mild, low acid, coffea arabica can be used, with a bit of coffea
robusta included for crema enhancement.
The
orignal location of Espresso Vivace has survived the eminent domain
seizure of the Roasteria, which closed forever on July 17th 2008, by
opening a new Gran Bar at 532 Broadway Ave East.
The new coffee bar is 2000 square feet and features signature curved
Italian stand-up bar done this time in Caffe Forest Brown marble. This
design reflects Vivace’s 20 year history on Capitol Hill and the design
combines elements of our Roasteria and Sidewalk Bar.
On weekdays Espresso Vivace offers free wireless along with wired
ethernet ports in the study and have abundant sidewalk seating to watch
the world go by.
