The Gershwin Hotel in
Midtown Manhattan is
100-years-old and has a funky, artsy vibe. The bright red exterior is
definitely eye-catching, with its huge white awnings and crazy
sculptures. The bold design continues inside with a lime green elevator
and art by Andy Warhol, Stefan Lindfors, Banks Clayton, Billy Name and
Michael Lin.
The area this
New York City hotel is in is where pop songs of the 1930s and 40s were
written. You could definitely call the Gershwin “inspirational.”
The boutique-style hotel is located five minutes from the
Empire State
Building, just north of the Flatiron district and south of Koreatown. It
is also located right next to the titillating Museum of Sex.
Clearly not your typical hotel, Gershwin offers a variety of rooms for
those looking for a deal to those who want something outlandish. You can
choose an executive den, a family friendly suite – even rooms with bunk
beds. They have Floor Fabuloso (4th floor), a home away from home for
models, and a Cozy Canadian Cocoon, which has a moosehead over the bed
for those looking for a rustic feel.
Wireless hookup, telephone, voicemail, color tv, air conditioning,
private baths, hairdryer, iron and iron board and safe deposit boxes are
all available. And their multi-lingual staff is there for all of your
needs.
