Set in Chicago's
Reliance Building,
Hotel Burnham offers exceptional Chicago
accommodations that balance modern comforts with a historic
setting. Designed by Chicago
architect Daniel Burnham and built in 1895, the
Reliance Building
was the predecessor to the modern skyscraper. Over time, it fell
into disrepair, until 1999, when the City of
Chicago created a unique public-private
partnership, and with the help of developers and Kimpton Hotels,
brought the building back to life. Now, vivid mosaic floors, red
marble walls and filigreed elevator grills replicate the
original building. Other architectural details combine to create
extraordinary Chicago
accommodations, including mahogany panels and columns, and a
two-story mural depicting the 1893 Columbian Exposition. The
classic club aesthetic continues in our inviting lobby living
room, providing a luxurious and elegant setting from which to
begin your Chicago
adventure.
Directly across from Hotel Burnham, the
future of Chicago's
downtown Loop is rising. BLOCK 37 will be
a multi-use residential, retail and entertainment development
unrivaled in the Windy
City. External construction
continues on this new city
landmark, including restoration of a tree-lined
Washington Street, right outside our
door.
