From Board President, Ken Hodges

2011 is here, can you believe it! We are now 22! we are both excited and enthusiastic about what lies in store for the upcoming year. 2010 was a fantastic year for us and I know that we will do everything we can to make 2011 an even more memorable year!

“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get” and each year our goal is to screen hundreds of films to bring you the very best in GLBT filmmaking from around the world so that you do know what you are going to get, quality film! We not only want you to enjoy the movies but we want to give you an environment where you can relax, have fun and create memories that will last a lifetime.

We would like to give special thanks for the role each of you play in making this organization a success: our sponsors, donors, grant funders, the Alan Dusowitz endowment, advertisers, community partners, media partners, numerous volunteers, the actors, filmmakers, distributors and most of all YOU, our audience! Without all of you, Tampa would not be home to one of the leading GLBT film festivals in the world. It is your love for film, community and one another that makes us so special!

So, as we begin the work for our 22nd festival, we hope that each and every one of you will be inspired to participate in some way this coming year. Come to one of our monthly movies, come to one of our fundraisers, make a donation, or bring someone new to the festival. You can even volunteer to work on a committee or join our board! Everyone has their own talents to offer and there are many ways you can help, just give us a call or send us an email and we will find the right place for you.

If you would like to find out more about serving on a committee or joining us as a board member please contact Gene Webster-English at gene@tiglff.com  or myself at ken@tiglff.com  . For advertising and sponsor opportunities you can contact Renee Cossett at renee@tiglff.com  .
