Women’s Empowerment
Luncheon - January 20, 2010
Miami: The
Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, in association
with the Epilepsy Foundation of
Florida, presents A Women’s Empowerment Luncheon,
the first of a bi-monthly program showcasing
successful Chamber Members who are professional women.
The guest speaker will be Ms. Shelley
Freeman, President, Wells Fargo/Wachovia Florida, on
January 20, 2010, at The Biltmore Hotel,
1200 Anastasia Blvd., Coral Gables, FL. (305-445-1926).
Registration begins
at 11:30am
with lunch and presentation at 12:00 Noon.
Lunch is $35 for MDGLCC members and $45 for non-members.
Luncheon reservations are requested.

Guest Speaker

Shelley Freeman
is regional president for Wells Fargo's Florida Community Bank.
She is responsible for retail, small business, and business
banking with 703 banking stores currently operating under the
Wachovia brand. Freeman also serves as the national co-leader
for the company's affluent customer support strategy. In this
capacity, Freeman works closely with the company's more than
6000 licensed bankers, regional bank private bankers and
store-based financial consultants.
Freeman graduated from Wilkes University and is a member of its
board of trustees. She also serves on the Board of Regents for
the Point Foundation and is a member of the Florida Council of
100.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida (EFOF) is a nonprofit
organization dedicated to enhancing the medical, personal and
social adjustments of the over 360,000 Floridians with epilepsy
and seizure disorders, and their families. EFOF's services
include state-of-the-art medical centers, counseling and
therapy, support groups, prevention and education initiatives,
social services and a summer camp program. EFOF is responsible
for providing access to epilepsy services throughout Florida,
without regard for an individual's ability to pay. Epilepsy
is the third most common neurological disorder in the U.S. after
Alzheimer's disease and stroke.
The
Miami-Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce
(MDGLCC) is the largest not-for-profit corporation in the county
for gay and lesbian businesses. With membership on the rise, the
Chamber's mission is to promote a unified and thriving, gay and
gay-friendly, business and professional community throughout
Miami-Dade County. Our goals are to promote networking within
the existing gay and gay-friendly business and professional
community, to promote business opportunities for Chamber
members, to promote Miami as a year-round, gay and gay-friendly
tourist destination, to provide resources for our members, and
to provide outreach from our community to other organizations.
