Istanbul Restaurant is located in Hollywood Beach, Florida on the Broadwalk. Since 1991, Istanbul on the Beach is the first and only real Turkish Restaurant in South Florida! You don't have to go to Turkey to eat Turkish Food, they have it on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. Go out and try it and see for yourself.

Tabuli at Istanbul HollywoodFor starters, try the humus, mashed chick peas blended with fresh garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, sesame pasta(tahini) and herbs or eggplant spread also known as patlican salatasi, puree of eggplant flavored with garlic, lemon juice, parsley and herbs. There is also a red kidney bean stew or barbunya pilakisi made with red kidney beans cooked with olive oil, green and red bell pepper, onion, tomatoes and small pieces of fresh carrots. We think the tabuli, small pieces of scallions, parsley, wheat (bulgur), tomatoes and herbs is the best in South Florida.

For lunch or a light dinner try the Turkish salad also known as coban salatasi made with fresh diced tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, green peppers, parsleys and Turkish spices dressed with Turkish olive oil and vinegar. The salad is garnished with grated feta cheese and a black olive.

We have not tried it, but we have heard the red lentil soup or kirmizi mercimek corbasi that is made with pureed red lentils and Turkish spices garnished with chopped mint and parsley and served with lemon wedge is to die for.

For lunch try the diced shish kebab sandwich in a pita, aka cop sis, which is a small piece of lamb in pita bread, served with slivered onions, tomatoes, lettuce and side of homemade yogurt sauce or the gyro kebab sandwich in pita aka, doner, a 100% lamb gyro in pita bread with slivered onions, tomatoes, lettuce and side of homemade yogurt sauce.

For dinner we recommend the lamb chops or kuzu pirzola which are baby lamb chops grilled to your taste with slivered onions and rice grilled green bell peppers and roasted tomatoes.

Voted Best Ethnic Restaurant in Hollywood 3 years in a row !
