When I entered Il Vino Toscano,the new restaurant/wine bar/lounge on Oakland Park Blvd.,I was immediately impressed with the décor. The place is gorgeous with dark hardwood floors, white tables, couches with red accents, and large chandeliers. I took my brother,Howard, with me for dinner and drinks to celebrate his birthday and to catch up. The wine list at the restaurant was very impressive and affordably priced, as are the dishes, which start at $12. Cesare, the owner, is from Rome, Italy and his family also owns a restaurant there. Needless to say, the Italian dishes  served at Il Vino Toscano are authentic and delicious. Howard and I split an order of Sautéed Di Calamari ($8.95), which was fresh squid sautéed in white wine, garlic and olive oil. We also ordered Sautéed Di Frutti Dimare ($11.95), which was fresh mussels, clams and shrimp sautéed in white wine garlic and olive oil. Both dishes also came with crusty toasted bread to dip in the sauce, which was scrumptious. We then wanted to try their homemade ravioli. The ravioli dishes come in small ($12) and regular ($15.95) portions. Howard ordered a small portion of the Ravioli Maine Lobster, which was served with an exquisite pink sauce. I ordered a small portion of the Ravioli Crab, which was served in a luscious cream sauce. The ravioli were perfect! We also decided to share the Grilled Salmon ($15.95), which featured the perfect serving of salmon on top of grilled vegetables, topped with crispy julienned carrots and served with a delicate lemon sauce. I enjoyed everything I ordered, but this was my favorite dish! The sauce, veggies and grilled fish were sensational! Attentive service, amazing food and the beautiful décor made our experience at a memorable one! I will defi nitely be back to lounge on the big leather couch, drink wine and eat more yummy Italian food!
