BeachBear Weekend was founded by Bob Young, Shannon Spotts, and
Chad Bush in 2011 to bring men from all over the world to
experience the exciting and very gay friendly
Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors Floridabeaches,
nightlife and other attractions. It's been said that, Fort
Lauderdale is like a cruise ship that doesn’t have to leave
port, complete with world class beaches, the Everglades, and
wild nightlife. Beach Bear weekend promises to "show our
visitors a hell of a good time."
Planned daily events (Thursday through Monday):
Sunrise Meditation and Yoga: Start your morning watching the
golden rays of the sun pierce the ocean’s edge as it rises above
the Atlantic to start a new day. Join us at 8 AM on the beach
across from our host hotel, the Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Beach
(Marriott) for coffee and light eats.
Get Wet: Cool off in a refreshing swim or just relax on the warm
sandy beach from 10 AM to 5 PM when the bears invade Sebastian
Beach. Umbrellas, lounges, wave-runners, and paddle boards
available. Our sponsors will be there to pass out refreshments
and make sure your day on the beach is a memorable one.
BearCentral: Located on the second floor of the host hotel is
your one stop shop for information on BeachBear Weekend events,
near-by points of interest, local businesses/restaurants/night
life, and community resources. Volunteers from Sunserve will be
there daily from 10 AM to 4 PM to ensure your stay at the host
hotel is stress free. Stop by and say hello.
Living Sober: BeachBear Weekend is proud to welcome Round-Up to
the host hotel. Interested guests are invited to stop by the
Board of Director’s room on the second floor of the host hotel
to meet with representatives of this organization. We share in
their commitment to help provide a safe and enjoyable weekend
for all of our guests.
Thursday (May 10th, 2012):
5 PM-8 PM: BeachBear Happy Hour and Kick Off Dinner at
Coconuts Restaurant. (Next to the Hotel).
10 PM: Come play cowboy and unwind on
Scandals Saloon back patio and get happy
hour prices all night long.
Friday (May 11th, 2012):
8 AM – 9:30 AM: Yoga and Stretching on the beach with the Zoo
Trainers.
8 AM – 11 AM: Breakfast at host hotel. 440 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort
Lauderdale Florida.
11 AM – 5 PM: Get Wet at
Sebastian Street Gay Beach. Jet Skis, Parasailing,
and ton of hot men on our famous Gay Beach. Fat Tuesdays at the
Beach will be giving all bears drink specials and discount’s on
their huge frozen drinks.
6 PM – 9 PM: Dinner at
Wilton's Bier Garden.
9PM- 1PM: GROWL, A Friday night regular with the local bear
community,
Bill’s Filling Station and
SunServe invite you to join them from 9 PM
on.
1 AM - 3 AM: Friday night at
Ramrod is an institution with the bears of Fort
Lauderdale.
3 AM: After party at
Slammers. This is an adult gay male private
club, that really gets cooking in the wee hours of the morning.
Saturday (May 12th, 2011):
8 AM – 9:30 AM: Yoga and Stretching on the beach with the Zoo
Trainers.
8 AM – 11 AM: Breakfast at host hotel. 440 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort
Lauderdale Florida.
11 AM – 4 PM: Spirit of Fort Lauderdale Adventure Cruise. Out on
the open water eating and drinking in a huge catamaran with all
of your new Bear buddies is a great way to spend a day. Enjoy
the cruise right off the coast of the Gay Beach and take
advantage of the inner tube trampolines and slides.
5 PM – 10 PM: Wilton Drive Food Crawl. Wilton Drive has so many
restaurants that we decided to include them all.
Humpy’s,
Tee Jay Thai,
Courtyard Cafe,
Alibi, Rodeo,
Rosie’s Bar and Grill and
Wilton's Bier Garden will all be
participating.
10 PM: The Meat Ball, 100% pure beef and loaded with
testosterone, this event is far from organic and promises to
have you begging for seconds. Chad Bush takes Ramrod by the
balls as DJ Ted Eiel pounds out the beats. Doors hosted by
Sunserve. This night
Ramrod will block off the parking lot to make extra
room for all of the men and vendors.
3 AM: After party at
Slammers.
Sunday (May 13th, 2012):
8 AM – 9:30 AM: Yoga and Stretching on the beach with the Zoo
Trainers.
8 AM – 11 AM: Breakfast at host hotel. 440 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort
Lauderdale Florida.
2 PM – 8 PM: FUZZ Pool Party at
Depot Cabana Bar
and Grill. This Cubcuda monthly bear party is
always a blast. DJ Daddy-O and the Flaggers will be burning it
up while the men can dance pool side or go inside and grab some
food.
9 PM: GO GO Bear Dance Party at
Boom with the DJ’s From Foundry. Dj’s Alex
Ramos, Ron Braun, and a special guest DJ. Go GO Bears provided
by Cubcuda Productions and Bear Nation.
1 AM: After party at
Slammers.
Monday (May 14th, 2012):
8 AM – 11 AM: Breakfast at host hotel 440 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort
Lauderdale Florida.
11 AM – 5 PM: Beach day at Sebastian Beach
2PM - 6PM: Bear Eats and Beats:
Wilton's Bier Garden is offering recovery
Bloody Mary’s and food for all of our Bears. The kitchen will be
open and the DJ will be putting you back into the mood.
Big Bear Beer Bash at
Ramrod. This is a weekly party that is always
kicking. There is always a BEARLEBRITY guest bartender or two to
keep things interesting. $10 Beer bust on all draft, all night,
and $3 Skyy Vodka.
1 AM: After party at
Slammers.
