Chanticleer has had the
opportunity to sing in some of the most beautiful concert halls
and churches in the world. But the group has also sung in a barn
in Canada, a roofless church in the former East Germany, a
gymnasium in Sweden, and in Central Park with the New York
Philharmonic. No matter where the group travels, Chanticleer has
become a "polished performing machine that … could fairly be
called Botto's miracle" (The Wall Street Journal). Founder Louis
Botto should be proud. Direct ticket Link

The Pride Series is an annual event brining in some of the LGBT
community's favorite shows and performers. |
Named “Best Dinner Theater” by Gold Coast Magazine and New
Times, Laffing Matterz at the Broward Center returns to the Abdo
New River Room on Thursday, November 3 for a six-month
engagement with an all-new show that ranges from a comic look at
down-home cooking queen Paula Dean to low-down sexting
politicians.
Rita Wells, co-creator of the long-running
comedy hit, shared a preview of what audiences can expect this
year. "For 2012, a year when some believe doomsday will occur,
we have the 'End of Days Rag,' while for those that think that
our culture may be the only thing dying we offer the Republican
debates with Lady Gaga's flair. Then of course there is the
economy, the repeal of 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' as well as the
political scandal of the day. As with all our shows, our cast of
10 multi-talented performers also make us laugh at ourselves and
the silly things that happen living everyday life," she said.
You need a great opening act when you have a show like that
and Laffing Matterz delivers with an award-winning pre-show
dinner. Christopher Gillis, executive chef at Laffing Matterz at
the Broward Center, is always experimenting with new creations
and has created a mouth-watering menu that will always have a
unique chef's nightly selection.
Appetizers
include two jumbo lump crabmeat cakes sautéed to golden brown
served with a creamy lemon-caper sauce, three risotto and goat
cheese balls infused with white truffle oil, and skewers of
BBQ-marinated beef tenderloin served with cold Asian noodle
salad.
For an entrée, audiences have a choice of sliced
filet mignon served with a port wine demi glace, sautéed jumbo
sea scallops topped with Mornay sauce; oven baked Chilean Sea
Bass finished with a fire-roasted pineapple /red pepper salsa;
wild mushroom Chicken Marsala; tender lamb osso bucco; and
vegetarian truffle pasta purses stuffed with a blend of cheeses
and a hint of truffle. Two first place award winners from
Mike's Pies, cheese cake and key lime pie, star in the tempting
dessert menu.
Performance times are Thursdays and
Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. and selected
Sundays throughout the season at 4:30 p.m. Admission is $63 and
$68 and includes the show and a dinner with house salad, a
choice of entrée and warm sourdough bread. Appetizers, desserts
and all beverages are billed separately.
Tickets and
group discounts for parties of 10 or more are available through
