The Cherry Cricket
Customized Cricket Burger
The Cherry Cricket has been a Denver hot spot since it started
as “Mary Zimmerman’s Bar” in 1947. Since then, it has built its
name through it’s legendary burgers in fabulous Cherry Creek.
Even the hit TV show “Man vs Food” has featured this place. They
do not have pre-designed burgers on their menu, so it is up to
the customer to select from the large toppings menu. The Cricket
Burger has a 1/2 lb base of juicy hamburger meat. I would
suggest topping it with smoked cheddar, bacon, and an egg with a
runny yolk. Whether you are in a “brunchy” mood, or simply
craving something different, this burger is filled with an
abundant amount of flavor.
In addition to three great burgers, the Cricket (1/2 pound), the
Little Cricket (1/4 pound) and a Turkey Burger, this legendary
Denver hotspot's menu also includes wings and three kinds of
chili, Green, Midwestern red and white. For those of you not
into burgers you'll find a selection of chicken sandwiches
including the Alice chicken sandwich with mushrooms, bacon,
honey Dijon sauce and cheddar cheese
or the All American chicken sandwich with crisp chicken breast,
American cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion with thousand island
dressing on a Kaiser roll. Vegetarians will enjoy the hot
avocado melt with Swiss, avocado, tomatoes, grilled onions and
thousand island dressing.
The overused term “legendary” has become passé now-a-days. The
Cherry Cricket is not only legendary, it is a Denver tradition
lives up to the expectation and the reputation it has as a
classic neighborhood-bar. |
