Okinawa Brings People Together Over An Intimate Japanese Dinner |

Sensational Sushi on Colfax
by Nick Mangiapane
Colfax Ave in Denver is becoming the culprit of more and more
urban rejuvenations over the past couple years. It is evolving
from a run down street to something definitely worth visiting.
Late last year, a new restaurant opened up on Colfax near City
Park. Okinawa serves up some fresh sushi and Asian cuisine in a
modern, intimate dining room. From the moment we walked in to
the time of departure, the staff treated us with the warmest
regards. Okinawa offers a large sake, wine, and beer list. Their
happy hour is a steal with buy one get one free on all sake,
beer, and wine between 2:30pm-5pm. We decided to get a bottle of
unfiltered sake.
For a starter, the Dynamite is fantastic! It consists of shrimp,
scallops, squid, and mushrooms with spicy mayonnaise baked on
top. The flavors emerging from the dish paved the way for the
scrumptious meal ahead. There is an option of miso soup or green
salad with a meal, but we chose the soup. It’s a great way to
warm up during the chilly winter months. I highly recommend
ordering off the “Lover’s Boat” menu as it has an eclectic array
of sushi and sashimi. The Sushi for Two Lover’s Boat is what we
decided on. This plate was presented beautifully with 16 pieces
of sushi, a shrimp tempura roll, and a gorgeous rainbow roll.
The presentation is only surpassed by the taste of the fresh
spread of fish.
Whether you’re looking for an intimate night out with that
special someone or merely looking to have a great meal with
friends, Okinawa is perfect for blossoming relationships over a
sensational meal. |
