Jelly is an adorable cafe located in the “Gay village” of
Capitol Hill. It is decorated with a modern twist to a fifties
throwback theme. From the vibrant colors of the walls and tables
to the chandeliers made from coffee mugs, saucers, and hanging
spoons, this Denver hot spot will keep your eyes in a blissful
state. One of the most unique features of the decor is that the
walls are lined with vintage cereal boxes from different eras.
It is a walk down memory lane with each box cover. Even though
Jelly is not deemed as a “Gay restaurant”, it is extremely
“Gay-friendly” and is usually filled with a progressive and hip
customer base.
Jelly Cafe is open daily from 7AM-3PM.
Breakfast is available all day and lunch is served from
11AM-3PM. The food is “to die for”! Jelly prides themselves in
making a majority of the menu from scratch every day. The donut
bites are made to order, so they arrive at the table warm and
fresh. Each donut bite can be filled with chocolate, jelly,
crème, or simply coated in cinnamon sugar. As you enjoy your
breakfast appetizer of donut bites, be sure to order a
refreshing adult beverage from the full bar. When it comes time
to ordering the main course, Jelly definitely has some unique
and satisfying dishes. The Meatloaf Hash is a knockout! It
contains the house meatloaf, roasted red peppers, red potatoes,
spinach, and it is covered with two eggs. The dish also comes
with a choice of bread or a biscuit, and a side of homemade
Jelly. There is always a new Jelly de Jour. Another interesting
dish is the Corn Flake Battered French Toast. This twist gives
the traditional French toast dish a pleasant crunch. The upbeat
servers add to the already wonderful experience. Jelly cafe is a
“must” when visiting the Capitol Hill area for breakfast or
lunch.
