Edge Restaurant & Bar |
 |
Without even being open for a year, Edge Restaurant & Bar is
quickly becoming among the favorites of those dining in downtown
Denver.
It is considered to be a progressive American steakhouse. Edge
is primely located on the ground floor of the brand new
Four
Seasons Hotel on the corner of 14th St and Arapahoe St. There is
a large dining room as well as a separate bar section. Even
though the dining room is large, the dim lighting makes it feel
very intimate. The spot lit sculptures and warm color choices in
the dining room add a sexy yet sophisticated touch. The bar area
feels like a hip lounge.
While being seated, we walked past a gorgeous glassed-in wine
cellar featuring 200 selections of wine. Edge offers a wide
variety of seasonal cocktails. I chose to try the Perfect Pair
Martini which was mixed beautifully with Grey Goose La Poire,
pear puree, egg whites, and sweet ‘n sour. The martinis are
served in stylish silver martini glasses which add a classy
touch. Edge is currently offering a “Sport & Stage Menu” which
is geared towards Theatre and Game-goers. This three course menu
lets you taste some of the best menu items that Edge has to
offer.
The waiter started us off with fresh bread and butter sprinkled
with salt. As an appetizer, I highly recommend the Mushroom
Soup. This creamy soup contains fresh mushrooms with truffles
and porcini. The Sea Salt Roasted Beets are another great
choice. This tasty appetizer is paired with a side of arugula,
haystack mountain goat cheese, and pistachio oil.
Edge is known for its steaks. The 16oz U.S.D.A. Prime Rib Eye
Steak is served with the bone in. The flavors from this
beautifully cut meat were phenomenal. It was served with a red
chili pepper to add a little kick with every bite and also was
served with herb steamed asparagus. Another one of Edge’s top
items would have to be the 8oz Pecan Grilled U.S.D.A. Prime
Filet. Also a flavorsome cut of meat, it is served with a red
chili pepper. The Edge Steak Fries are a great side item as they
are seasoned with sea salt and fresh herbs. The main courses at
Edge truly set the bar high for steakhouses in Denver.
To complete a great meal, the fabulous waitstaff brought out
impeccable desserts. The Cheesecake Panna Cotta was served in a
cute glass jar with the lid flipped open. This layered
cheesecake was topped with orange sorbet and a citrus chip. The
unique flavors complimented each other well. The other dessert
choice was the seasonal ice cream. They offer many different ice
cream flavors however, I chose the butter pecan. The three
scoops are ice cream are served side by side with a piece of
sugar crusted short bread against each scoop. For a dining
experience with friendly & attentive servers, outstanding
cuisine, and a fabulous dining room, Edge Restaurant & Bar is
top choice for steakhouses in Denver.
