Over
the past few years, Downtown Denver has really evolved into a
thriving hotspot for nightlife, entertainment, and dining.
Rivaling the top restaurants and bars in the area, Crave Dessert
Bar and Lounge has officially opened it’s doors. With a prime
location
in the beautiful Spire building across from the convention
center, this decadent epicurean lounge offers an eclectic menu
featuring specialty cocktails, wine, beer, hot chocolate,
coffee, and most importantly... “to die for” desserts. Whether
you are looking for a delicious espresso drink early in the
morning before work, or winding down after dinner with a sweet
dessert and cocktail, Crave is fantastic morning, noon, and
night.
We
had the opportunity to sample a plethora of different items that
Crave has to offer. Ordering from specialty cocktail menu is
great way to start the evening. The drinks range from subtle
dessert flavors to full-on sweet chocolaty treats. If you’re
looking for a delicious drink that isn’t overly sweet, be sure
to order the Chocolate Kisses cocktail. This beverage is mixed
using Old Overholt Rye, EVOO Chocolate Balsamic, and it is
garnished with whole raspberries. I’m usually not a fan of
whiskey, but the subtleness of the drink truly made it
enjoyable. If you’re looking for a fruitier drink, the Apples To
Apples cocktail is a “must.” It contains Tanqueray Gin, Muddled
Apple, Apple Cider, Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, and it is
garnished with tiny slices of apple. It tastes as amazing as it
looks. Another drink worth raving over will have your sweet
tooth in an uproar. Dessert In A Glass contains Absolut Vanilla,
White Chocolate-Cinnamon Syrup, Espresso, and it is topped with
Cinnamon-Infused Whipped Cream.
The
thing that really makes Crave irresistible is the “Cravings”
dessert menu. With so many delicious items, it’s difficult to
choose only one. I highly recommend ordering a few different
desserts, so you can try much of what Crave offers. Their
award-winning 20-Layer Cake will leave you speechless. It is a
flourless chocolate cake layered with peanut butter mousse and
it is served with salted caramel ice cream. You may not view
donuts as a fancy dessert, but let Crave change your point of
view. Their Vanilla Dusted Donuts are warm, light and flurry,
and they are served with a pomegranate compote, perfect for
dipping. Crave also has seasonal desserts. The Pumpkin
Cheesecake Mille Feuille will add sweetness to your holidays.
The creamy cheesecake is sandwiched between flaky, ginger
scented phyllo and is served with huckleberry preserves. Another
dessert perfect this time of year is the White Chocolate Candy
Cane ice cream. This classic dessert is given a tasty and
exciting twist with the crunch of the candy cane. If you’re
“craving” something that isn’t sugary, Crave offers Charcuterie
Plates as well. These plates feature an array of fine meat,
cheese, and fruit selections.
Denver
has gained a truly superb hotspot. The friendly wait staff, chic
decor, prime location, and outstanding menu destine Crave to be
a huge success for years to come. Venture out from your normal
bar routine and have a classy night out downtown. It’s wonderful
to see the dining scene in Denver continue to escalate. Welcome
to the neighborhood, Crave.
