Red
Rocks Amphitheatre is a geological phenomenon – the only
naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheater in the
world. From Sting and The Beatles, to opera stars and U2, every
artist aspires to play on this magical, spiritual and emotional
stage.
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is owned and operated by the City and
County of Denver’s Arts & Venues Division.
Since 1999, Denver Film Society has partnered with the City of
Denver to produce Film on the Rocks, a classic film series
accompanied by live music at Red Rocks. Film on the Rocks
continues to be summer’s hottest movie ticket. The latest season
kicked off with a sold-out screening of perennial fan favorite,
The Big Lebowski with “The Dude” himself (Jeff Dowd) joining the
film society for some outrageous on-stage antics. Other season
highlights included 7,500 dedicated Top Gun fans sitting through
the rain as Maverick revved up his MiG and an all-out dance
party led by the talented School of Rock National All-Stars in
tribute to the Talking Heads and CBGBs before a screening of
Stop Making Sense. And, the Denver Film Society hosted VIPs at
all 13 shows at their popular Trading Post Pre-Parties and on
their Party Bus. 2011 saw five sell-out events out of twelve
screenings and over 66,000 attendees.
The Denver Film Society also presents the
Cinema Q Film Festival and
Starz Denver Film Festival

"There are few more fun than listening to a live band,
watching the sunset in one of the most gorgeous settings in
America, and then hearing every single person in the crowd say
all the lines to your favorite movie!"
