The grand matriarch of Toronto's Gay village celebrates
one
anniversary after another. After more than ten years, Byzantium's celebrated martinis (officially the first
martini bar in the Toronto) and highly praised chef (Jerome Rivest) and
their menu speak for themselves. On Fridays and Saturdays, after 11pm,
the walls slide away creating one large funky lounge with some of the
best DJ’s in the city spinning until 2am. In the summer, many of their
patrons enjoy a breezy eve on the designer
styled private rear patio.
James Chatto said “Byzantium is one of the places to get shaken or
stirred in Canada”. The Toronto Star labeled their customers “Byz Boys”.
But don’t be misled by labels. Byzantium prides itself
on making everyone feel welcome. It shows in the great mix of their
patrons…young, old, male, female, straight, gay, movie star or not.
Byzantium is just a fun place with fabulous
food and some of the best libations in the Toronto. Meet old friends for
dinner and make new ones when the walls open.
