Below The Belt with Porn Superstar Marco Paris

With 55 movies to his credit since 2001, Marco Paris is one of today’s most successful porn Superstars.  Born in Slovakia in a small town of about 15,000 people this self proclaimed “nerd and straight A student” did not blossom until he became a University student in a larger city and didn’t loose his virginity until 21 years of age!  Marco decided to focus on his physique and a career in the gay porn industry to help him break out of his nerd image and ultimately emerge as a hunk.  While sitting with Marco Paris back stage at Boardwalk Bar in Ft, Lauderdale it was easy to see why he has become so successful in the world of gay porn.  With a Slovakian accent that could melt any mans heart and a kindness that just exudes from this beautiful man, we sat down and discussed his career in porn, growing up in Slovakia and his future ambitions in life.  Paris is not only a pretty face, but a very focused and determined creative force who knows exactly what he wants in life and how to overcome any obstacle thrown his way.

GIO                 Marco, thank you for taking the time to do this interview with me and my readers! 

Marco            No problem (He gives a big smile). 

GIO                 Welcome to Fort Lauderdale, is this your first time performing down here? 

Marco            It is my first time ever performing in Florida.  I was here one other time, but just visiting a friend in Miami. I am having fun at Boardwalk!     

GIO                Speaking about performing, what do you enjoy most about performing live? 

Marco            For me I think it is the showing off kind of thing and the exhibitionist kind of thing. I like when people see me and get excited to meet me. Ultimately, I like to show off a little bit, so I guess that is why I like performing live I guess. 

GIO                Well you do the showing off part well (Both laugh).  Were you always a show off?  What were you like as a teenager, were you    popular in school and the jock type? 

Marco            Not at all…I wasn’t popular at all.  I was very nerdy and I was a straight “A” student all through school.   I don’t know why, but after High School I wanted to change and become more popular and that is why I focused on my image and the whole porn career.  In the small home town I am from, I am the only porn star ever from there I think. 

GIO                 Interesting, so tell me about that.  Where did you grow up?  By the way, I love your accent (He smiles wide). 

Marco            I come from Slovakia in a small town about 100 miles from the capital and there are about 15,000 people total where I come from.  My family still lives there and some friends.  I hope none of them know what I do as that would be a disaster. 

GIO                 Wow, that is interesting that you are from Slovakia.  I recently interviewed Lukas Ridgstone who is also from Slovakia.  Have you ever met him before? 

Marco            I did meet him once in Las Vegas a while back.  He was a nice guy. 

GIO                 So coming from Eastern Europe did you ever pursue working for BelAmi since they are located over there?  Did you start doing porn over there before coming to the USA? 

Marco            Yes I did some work in Prague and Budapest for a couple small companies first.  The Budapest shoot was actually for an American company and the Prague shoot was for a German company.  I never did work for BelAmi, although I did go to their office once for an interview and maybe they did not like me since they never cast me. (He laughs) 

GIO                 Well I am sure that they liked you just fine, perhaps it was just that your overall look is a bit more body builder than they usually cast in their films. 

Marco            You know what, at that time I was not as big as I am now…I was more of a twink back then.  You know what; it was no big deal though as that is all part of the business and they were nice to me when I was there. 

GIO                 Well that is all part of the industry.  So at what age did you start focusing on building your body and morphing from a twink to the man you are now? 

Marco            After high school while I as attending University, I started working out.  University was in Bratislava which was a larger city with more opportunities and I was there for 5 years.  It was during these 5 years that I started doing porn and traveling to Prague and Budapest to shoot.   

GIO                 So what year did you start making porn and at what age? 

Marco            It was around 2000 to 2001 and I was 23 years old when I started. 

Gio                  How did you end up coming to the USA and working in porn over here?

Marco            The movie I shot in Budapest was for a small amateur producer in America and I became friends with one of the Producers.  Shortly after that I got a visa to the USA on a student exchange program that allowed me to work here and I contacted that producer and asked him if I could shoot some films here while I was over here.  I did not shoot for him, but I contacted Chi Chi LaRue and the following day I was flown out to LA to shoot with her for my first film here. 

GIO                 So, Chi Chi LaRue directed you in your first film in the USA, what was the film? 

Marco            Yeah, it was a Falcon - Jocks film and that was an amazing start for me.  It was Deception 1 and it was a good film.  Although my scene was not that great because I was a little shy and very nervous, it was a huge production and I was not used to that.   There were big porn stars all around me and I was like…”oh my god, what am I doing here”... (He laughs) so it was a little tough for me, but it was a very good experience. 

GIO                 Wow, that is pretty cool to have Chi Chi direct you for your first time.  Tell me why you have decided to keep working as a porn perfomer? 

Marco            I don’t know, perhaps it is the money and the attention I get along with the recognition I get on the street that keeps me going.  For me it is also the excitement as it is really an extraordinary job and not that many people do this type of work for a living. 

GIO                 You say the recognition is one reason you do this work, is there a time when you were recognized that was not so great of an experience for you? 

Marco            Yes, there was one time when I was at a restaurant with my boy friend and the waiter was very upfront and came right out and said, “hey, aren’t you a porn star? I think I have seen you in movies.”  Since I was sitting with my boy friend, who of course knew I did porn, it was a little awkward.  But, I did tell him that yeah I believe it is me as I do porn and the waiter was all excited about it.  I guess because he was not subtle, that is why it was awkward.   

GIO                 I can see where that would be odd.  Do you get embarrassed often when recognized? 

Marco            No, for me it is not embarrassing.  Actually it is pretty nice to be recognized.  Sometimes it is funny because people do not tell you they recognize you, but from the way they look, I can tell they recognize me…that usually happens at the gym and nightclubs. 

GIO                 I understand that as of July you are no longer a Hot House exclusive.  Tell me what the experience was like for you working under contract with them as an exclusive. 

Marco            It was a very good experience and I am glad I did it.  Definitely it was one of the best experiences of my life working with them.  It was a lot of work and a lot of promotional opportunities for me and they are all very nice guys to work with. 

GIO                 I agree, Hot House did a great job with you and all your films with them are excellent.  I understand that you are working on a film being shot down in Key West this coming week, tell me about this new project and what else you have coming up. 

Marco            Yeah, I got a call from Raphael Alencar who now has his own production company Black Scorpion and I am going down there to shoot for him on his new movie.  I am then shooting another movie for Blue Blake which will be my 1^st movie for him and I am shooting that in two weeks in Los Angeles.  After that I am just waiting to see what other project come my way and I am open to working with other people.  Over the years, I have worked with many of the big producers, but not all of them…so I am keeping my options open for good projects as they come. 

GIO                 Out of all the films you have done, which one stands out as a favorite for you and your best performance? 

Marco            For me it is a Hot House movie called The Missing. It was a very good movie and for me everything worked out well on that shoot.  Another is the Hot House film Mischief and the newest Hot House release Trunks 3 which is just coming out and for me I think I look good in this film and I am very happy with how my body looks and hopefully people will really like it. 

GIO                 Well if it is as good as Trunks 1&2, I am sure the fans will love it!  Do you have a favorite scene partner from the past? 

Marco            (Laughs) You know, I get asked this question a lot and for me it is hard to answer that as most of them have been great to work with.  Sometimes when I am home I try to think about this question and/or who is my favorite porn star that I would want to work with?  For me I can never find the answer.  For me I like all kinds of guys, especially the ones that have a good attitude.  A guy can be beautiful to look at and if they have a bad attitude they can ruin the whole scene and not be fun to work with.  For me, they do not have to be the most beautiful man, just a nice guy with a good attitude and easy to work with and then the scene will be good. 

GIO                 Outside of porn, what else are you interested in? 

Marco            Definitely photography for me, I like taking landscape pictures.  I really like hiking and mountains. 

GIO                 Well I can relate to that since I am also a photographer and very passionate about it.  How long have you been doing photography?  I would love to see some of you work someday. 

Marco            I have been doing photography since University when I bought my first camera and since then I have been using that same camera.  I would love for you to see my work sometime Gio, I think my stuff is pretty good (blushes a little and humbly stated).  I am still shooting with 35mm and not made the switch to digital yet. 

GIO                 I switched to digital a couple years ago and no longer shoot 35mm. 

Marco            I do want to switch to digital at some point, but have not made that leap yet. 

GIO                 Well that is very cool and I certainly can appreciate the artist in you!  You mention hiking and mountains, both rugged types of activities.  Do you identify as being gay? 

Marco            Umm, I would actually say I am bi-sexual as I have experience with women as well.  But, at this point I am headed more toward gay guys than the women, plus I have a boyfriend and he is also a porn star (Marc Williams) which makes it easier since we both understand the business of porn.

GIO                 That is great and in this line of work it is great to have a partner who understands.  What is most important to you in a relationship? 

Marco            I think trust is the most important thing for me. Mutual love and respect for each other and when you have all that it is the most beautiful thing in life. 

GIO                 What advice would you give anyone wanting to become a porn star? 

Marco            Do not give up and follow your dreams, not matter what you want to be.  It is a difficult business and you get refused and rejected a lot in this business, but when that happens that is not the end of the world as long as you recognize that another company will want you.  So, wait for the right opportunity and do not give up. 

GIO                 That is great advice.  Let’s have some fun now, which do you prefer – Boxers or briefs? 

Marco            Nude (Both laugh) I never were underwear, but if I do they are Briefs. 

GIO                 If you had a choice of a dog or cat; which would you choose? 

Marco            Definitely a dog; I guess because they are more masculine. 

GIO                 If you could be any animal…what would you be and why? 

Marco            (Laughs with a big smile) I would go for the Tiger or Jaguar since they are very wild and also masculine. 

GIO                 Sexually speaking, are you aggressive, passive, passionate or a combination thereof? 

Marco            I am a little bit of all depending on the mood.

GIO                 What is the most passionate thing you have ever done for someone? 

Marco            Wow, that is a tough one.  Actually it is not sexual but rather it was for my mom.  I was in the USA for two years and she was celebrating her birthday and I made arrangements to have 47 roses delivered to her on her 47^th Birthday over in Slovakia and she was very surprised by that because she had never had anything like that done for her before. 

GIO                 That is passionate and very sweet.  Do you come from a large family and do they know about your porn work? 

Marco            I have one real brother and two step-brothers.  The only woman is my mother.  My real brother knows about the porn and he is OK with it, but nobody else knows and I will keep it that way. 

GIO                 How old were you when you saw your first porn movie and what was that experience like for you? 

Marco            I was in high school and during a break at school between classes about 12 of us from our class went to a friend’s house and we saw straight porn all together.  After that we would go to his house once a week and watch the porn movies (Laughs). 

GIO                 Sounds fun!  How old were you when you lost your virginity? 

Marco            I was 21 and it was with a girl.  Actually it was here in the United States also. 

GIO                 Wow, you were a late bloomer. Very interesting (Both laugh), you have certainly made up for lost time at this point (Big laugh).  You mentioned to me before the interview that you currently do not have your own fan website, but that it is something you are working towards, when do you think it will launch? 

Marco            I want to launch it as soon as I can.  Right now I am finalizing the negotiation of the development of the site and I am hopeful it will be up by the 2^nd half of this year...Probably sometime in July or August, if not sooner. 

GIO                 Aside from the upcoming projects you mentioned earlier; what do you see yourself doing in this business over the next couple years? 

Marco            Well I want to do more work on camera of course, but perhaps I may work in a porn studio office or something like that.  You know, like many other porn stars have done when their on screen career is over (Laughs).  That is one option to stay in the business, not as a porn star, but still in the business.  The other of course is my passion, which is photography.  Perhaps I will go back to school and really study photography and start my own business. 

GIO                 Well those are all great options and I wish you continued success in all your future endeavors.   Is there anything else that you would like to share with the readers? 

Marco            Just to say thank you to everyone for watching my movies and I will keep doing my best for all the fans out there.  I want to say hello to all those fans that have followed me and have sent me nice messages from all over the world, I really appreciate hearing from them.  I am going to be pursuing more live appearances this year and I hope to meet them when I perform.
