GIO     Alex, thank you for sitting down with me today. 

Alex    Gio, you are very welcome (in the most beautiful Italian accent!) 

GIO     Tell me how you decided to pursue gay porn as a job? 

Alex    A friend of mine was working for a company that produced gay porn in Europe and he sent me an e-mail stating I should get into it. But this company only produced bareback porn, and since I wasn’t interested in doing bareback, I said no to my friend’s offer. After that experience, I’ve always had it in the back of my mind that I’d like to try doing porn, but only with non-bareback producers. So I decided to apply to a few companies and now I’m doing movies. 

GIO     I applaud your choice of not doing bareback porn and sticking to your values associated with safe sex practices!  At what point did you decide that you really wanted to share your sensuality and sexuality with the world by doing Porn? 

Alex    (Laughs) It seems that it was always happening to me before I did porn. I’d go to a club or somewhere and for some reason I always found myself surrounded by people that wanted to know me. It’s strange, but when you look at yourself in the mirror, you don’t realize the proportions of your body and I guess it’s sort of like an anorexic because they don’t see themselves as others do.  For me, I am very much the same way; sometimes I wake up and look at myself and say “there’s something wrong here or there…” but the feedback I was getting from all these people that wanted to know me was that I was good looking. 

GIO     Well you do have an amazing physique and you are not only charming in person, but you do ooze sensuality!  Were you always as muscular as you  are now? 

Alex    Not so much, but I was a swimmer when I was young.  Swimming’s a   great sport when you are young for developing your bones and muscles. So for me, I appreciate what I did for my body when I was younger  because that’s made it easier for me to achieve the body I have now. I swam through my early teens and then I played water polo for four years. When I was about 17, I started to go to the gym to work out.

GIO     Wow, you were a very active child. 

Alex    (Laughs) No, I wasn’t active other than swimming.  My uncle used to tell me that when I grew up, I’d become a mattress tester because I was always sleeping or lying in bed.  

GIO     That is funny!  You grew up in Genova, Italy and still reside there; tell me and the readers about your city.

Alex    Genova is a very lovely city. The oldest part of the city, which is in the   center, is the biggest city center in all of Europe. It’s located on the coast, which is very nice.  Of course the food in Genova is very good as it is throughout Italy.  Ligureia is the area best known for culture and food. It’s a lovely place to live. 

GIO     I am sad I never visited Genova when I lived in Italy.  I will have to visit on my next trip.  I understand you get to travel quite a lot now that you are a porn star and a Titan Men Exclusive Model.  I also understand this is      your first live appearance in the USA as a featured performer. 

Alex    Yes, I get to travel quite often and I love it! I did appear at the GAYVN   Expo and HustlaBall in Las Vegas earlier this year with TitanMen, but this is my first live performance by myself on stage in the United States.

GIO     Since you get to travel all over the world, which are your favorite cities to visit? 

Alex    Well that depends for me. It depends on the seasons really (big smile). My favorite place in the summer is Barcelona because it’s beautiful and full of people and life! Other times of the year, I love Berlin and Munich in Germany. In the US, I really like New York, Los Angeles and San           Francisco. 

GIO     Well now you are a TitanMen.com Exclusive model.  How do you like being an exclusive with Titan Media? 

Alex    I love it! (big smile) They really take care of me as an exclusive and they are all very good people and very professional to work with. 

GIO     You currently have four films released through Titan - Breathless, Spy Quest 3, Folsom Filth and Folsom Leather.  Do you have a particular scene or movie that is your favorite thus far and why?

Alex    Folsom Leather!  The reason is because this movie is very close to   my own personal sexual interests and it was great filming it.

GIO     And what are your sexual interests? 

Alex    I’m really into leather and the whole leather scene. I often go to leather bars and I especially like the leather bars in Berlin. 

GIO     Complete this sentence…The best part about being a porn star is… 

Alex    For me, it is the traveling. But it’s a hard question because it is both the best and worst aspect for me sometimes. I love flying and traveling, but for me the long trips to and from Europe can be tough when I’m on a plane for 9 hours. The other part that I love is meeting all the interesting people along the way. Some of these people I would have never had the opportunity to meet before I started doing porn movies. 

GIO     Outside of porn, what are you passionate about in life? 

Alex    Well, I don’t go out to clubs as much as I used to because I cherish my personal time. When I do go out, I like to plan for it in advance. I’ll wait   to go out for a while to a club on a special night so that I can really enjoy it and have fun. Too many people go out too often and that ruins the fun if I do it too much. I’m also passionate about traveling and seeing new places and meeting interesting people.             

GIO     You mentioned that you personally like the leather clubs and the leather community.  What about this community and lifestyle attracts you to it? 

Alex    Well, there is the fetish itself…the leather, rubber and other stuff. You   know, sometimes people are a little bit scared by the leather community because they see it as full of intimidating and scary men. But this perception is a big mistake because the leather community is made up of the most wonderful and genuine people. I have friends all over the world and the majority of my “real” friends come from the leather community. This community is made up of the greatest people I know and therefore I am happy to be part of it! 

GIO     That is a great answer!  If I were to ask your two closest friends what you best qualities are; what would they tell me? 

Alex    They would say I’m very easy going, that I don’t create drama and that I’m laid back. 

GIO     After getting to know you, I see all those qualities in you and agree!  What would they say you need to work on? 

Alex    That I should have more patience sometimes. 

GIO     In porn, I really enjoy watching the blooper reels.  What is the funniest thing that has happened to you while shooting a scene? 

Alex    For me it was probably while shooting a scene for Folsom Leather.  In the studio there was a machine that makes fog and the machine made so  much fog that it triggered the fire alarm system. The fire department came out, and we had to get dressed and leave the studio while the firemen checked it out. I was in a vacuum bag and they had to get me out of it before the firemen arrived. (Laughing) 

GIO     That is funny!  I love the stuff that nobody ever sees in the final movie (Laughing).  Do you watch you own scenes when they come out? 

Alex    No, I always watch the second DVD which has the stuff you’re talking   about…the behind the scenes, interviews and things like that. 

GIO     Aside from your videos, do you watch much porn? 

Alex    Yes, I think I have about 160 porn movies in my personal collection. I had so many DVD boxes that I moved them all onto my own server at home to  take up less room on my shelves. So I have all my favorite porn movies and music all on a computer server. But now when I watch porn, I’m more critical of it because I can now understand what it takes to make a scene. 

GIO     What do you consider is your best physical feature? 

Alex    I think it’s my chest. 

GIO     If you could change a part of your body, what would it be? 

Alex    My arms, I wish they were bigger. 

GIO     Wow, well the look pretty good to me! 

Alex    Yes, that’s the point I was making before. We don’t always see what others see when we look at ourselves in the mirror. 

GIO     Yes, I understand.  What is the significance of your tribal tattoo on your upper arm/shoulder?

Alex    I did it a long time ago to celebrate the end of my university studies in economics. My boyfriend also has a similar tattoo on his arm.

GIO     So you have a degree in Economics, very nice.  Have you worked in this business outside of porn? 

Alex    Yes, I worked for an insurance company for a while. After three months working there, I took my vacation for a month to London and when I returned, I walked into the office and gave them my notice, saying I was going to make porn instead! (laughs) 

GIO     I understand that you just finished filming new scenes for TitanMen and have another leather film coming up for Titan in the Folsom Leather Series.  Any inside scoop on these scenes? 

Alex    Well, I can tell you that the scene I just shot up in Northern California was very hot and I anticipate the next leather scene to be incredible! 

GIO     How do you like appearing live on stage? 

Alex    It is still a little new to me, but I enjoy it very much.  It’s different than filming a movie because on a set you can stop the action anytime you need a break, but when performing on stage you can’t stop; you have to entertain and keep yourself going no matter what.  But when on stage I am amazed at how quickly the time goes by and it is a lot of fun. It can also be a little scary sometimes. I once performed at a club in Rome and had to have security help me because there were these drag queens in the front of the stage that grabbed my legs and wouldn’t let go. I was afraid I would fall down--it was dangerous. I was sorry about having to call security, but I had to watch out for my safety!

GIO     Titan Media has down an outstanding job in marketing your image around the world as one of their exclusive models.  I am sure you get recognized in public as you travel, how is it for you to be recognized and have people approach you? 

Alex    I really don’t mind when people recognize me and say hello. The dynamics sometimes are funny though. Usually, if it’s a group of people, I’ll see them all staring at me and whispering amongst themselves and that makes me laugh inside. If someone approaches me to say hello or asks me to sign an autograph of course I’m going to take the time and be nice to them.  My feeling is that anyone in the spotlight of the entertainment industry must always be grateful to the fans because they are the ones buying the DVDs and allowing us to continue to work in this business. As long as they are not overly obsessive I am fine with everyone. Thankfully, that hasn’t happened to me yet, but I’ve heard from other guys stories of obsessive fans that were scary. (laughs) 

GIO     I know you currently have a MySpace page out there and you are working on your own website www.AlexBaresi.com when will this be lauched? 

Alex    The MySpace page is up and going well.  My website should be ready by the end of this year.

GIO     So since Folsom Leather has just been released, what can the fans expect from you in this film? 

Alex    (Big Laugh) Well Gio, the usual (big smile). My scene has fisting, sucking, fucking, pissing and is really hot! 

GIO     That sounds totally hot!  Some people would consider that to be an extreme fetish.  For you, how do you prepare to do these types of scenes on film? 

Alex    Well, it’s much easier to do these things in my private life because I’m much more relaxed in my own environment. Take fisting for example…this is something that requires a lot of relaxation and when you do it on a set  with lots of people surrounding you it gets more complicated. I also have a lot more pressure on me when shooting these scenes because everyone expects it to be amazing. It is a lot of hard work filming these scenes, but for me it is also something that I really love doing both personally and professionally! 

GIO     What are the qualities you look for in a partner? 

Alex    Physically, I like big, hairy and muscular men, kind of like me. Emotionally, I like a man to take care of me and I like cuddling. 

GIO     Since you are Italian, I figured you had a little romantic side to you as well. What is the most romantic thing you have done for your partner or he has done for you? 

Alex    For me, it’s the little unexpected things we do for each other. For example, cooking a very nice meal and then when my partner comes home the dinner table’s set beautifully and we both sit down together and have a wonderful home cooked meal. It doesn’t have to be something expensive, but just something that comes from one’s heart that is the most romantic. I love flowers and my favorites are orchids. Sometimes my boyfriend will surprise me with a beautiful orchid and I think that’s very sweet. 

GIO     That is wonderful…the simple pleasures in life are the most romantic. Lets have a little fun now…lights on or off during sex? 

Alex    On, I want to see everything. I prefer candles because I like the mood   they create for sex. 

GIO     I love candles too.  Boxers or Briefs? 

Alex    For me, briefs. 

GIO     If you could be any animal what would you be and why? 

Alex    A bear – look at me, I’m already pretty hairy (laughs). 

GIO     Dogs or cats? 

Alex    I prefer dogs. 

GIO     What is next for you? 

Alex    I go back to Italy after a trip to Munich. I get to go back to my boyfriend after being apart for 2 months. 

GIO     Well hopefully he will have a bouquet of Orchids waiting for you when you get home! 

Alex    I’m sure he will. 

GIO     Any last words for you fans or advice for anyone wanting to become a porn star?
