Leading Adult Industry Lawyers To Discuss Issues with Attendees
ENCINO, CALIFORNIA (November 6, 2006) ... The 2007 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo will feature seminars presented by some of the adult entertainment industry's leading lawyers on pressing legal topics, such as new federal recordkeeping requirements for adult producers, piracy in the adult industry, and the renewed efforts at censorship of adult product. The 2007 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE), sponsored by Adult Video News and produced by Home Entertainment Events, will take place January 10-13, 2007 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. "The Latest on Section 2257 - Staying in Compliance with the Changes" will be presented on Thursday, January 11, from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. This session will focus on the recent changes to Section 2257, the federal law mandating recordkeeping by adult product producers, and the ongoing legal challenge to regulations implementing the law. Given the complexity of the law and the severe penalties for noncompliance, this session is a "must-attend" for anyone who produces, publishes, distributes, or retails adult images. Attorneys Paul Cambria and Michael Gross will present this seminar. This seminar is cosponsored by the Free Speech Coalition. The Free Speech Coalition has organized a seminar on piracy in the adult industry. The session, "Making Pirates Walk The Plank!," will bring together an international panel of experts to discuss the problem of piracy and offer proven techniques to locate and prosecute copyright infringers. "Making Pirates Walk The Plank!" will be held from 3:00-4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 12. The panelists will be Graeme Dunne of Australia's Adult Industry Copyright Organization, Joy King of Wicked Pictures, intellectual property expert Robert Raben, and Gil Sperlein of Titan Media. Finally, the annual "Arthur Schwartz Legal Seminar" will be held on Wednesday, January 10, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. This seminar, always one of the most popular at the Expo, brings together attorneys, including Jeffrey J. Douglas and Lawrence G. Walters, to respond to audience questions about current legal, legislative, and regulatory issues affecting the adult industry. The session will provide a great opportunity for adult industry professionals to get answers to their questions about the current legal environment. (Please note: While panelists will discuss issues generally, they cannot give personal legal advice.) The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo is a unique tradeshow experience.
